Full-time Package Handler

Summary:

Postmedia Distribution is looking for flexible, hardworking individuals to join our growing team!

Duties:

• Prepare stations for inbound parcels: Set up of racks, bags, and cages, for sorting.
• Ensuring everything is properly labeled with correct Hub/Sort codes
• Scan, sort, and place parcels within stations in the appropriate labeled bags/cages
• Verify sort codes to match with proper bags/cages to eliminate "missorts"
• Ensure proper use of provided equipment
• Responsible for bringing missorts/package issues to Admins
• Bag/Cage all sorted freight and stage the freight for carriers
• Assist with loading and unloading trucks as required
• Clean facility as required
• Update respective Leads of any supplies needed, damages and any delays or issues encountered
• Ensure all Health and Safety Guidelines are adhered to at all times
• Ensure dock safety for yourself and fellow coworkers
• Any other task or assignments deemed necessary by the organization

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma
• Reliable transportation
• Basic English language skills (written and oral)
• Warehouse experience considered an asset
• Good interpersonal, communication and organization skills
• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50lbs repetitively
• Available through the week and/or weekends
• Ability to work up to 12-hour shifts

Compensation: 

Employment offers presented to the selected candidate are based on a combination of qualifications, experience, responsibilities of the role and the candidate's location. 

Base Salary: $18 hourly
