Privacy Policy

MapleStack (maplestack.ca) is a free Canadian job board operated by OLIHA.DEV ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect when you use the website, our email digest and job alerts, and the MapleStack app in ChatGPT and Claude, and what we do with it.

1. What we collect

  • Account details, if you create an account: your name and email address. If you sign in with Google, we receive the basic profile Google shares (name and email).
  • Email subscriptions. For the daily jobs digest (no account needed) we store your email address, when you signed up, the IP address the request came from, and which version of the signup wording you agreed to. Nothing is sent until you click the confirmation link we email you. Job alerts for account holders also store the search you saved.
  • Job activity. When a job appears in your search results or you open it, we record the job, the time, your IP address, your browser's user agent and the page you came from. Employers who promote jobs see totals built from these records, never your details.
  • Employer payments. Employers who buy a promoted listing pay through Stripe. We do not see or store card numbers.
  • Analytics and advertising. The website uses Google Analytics, PostHog and the Meta Pixel, which set cookies or similar identifiers to measure how the site is used and how our advertising performs, and Microsoft Clarity, which records how pages are used (clicks, scrolling and mouse movement) so we can see where the site is hard to use.
  • Spam protection. Our forms use Google reCAPTCHA, which assesses whether a submission comes from a person.
  • Server logs. Our servers log requests, including IP addresses, to operate and secure the service.

2. The MapleStack app in ChatGPT and Claude

When you use MapleStack inside ChatGPT or Claude, we receive only what the assistant sends to run a tool: the search terms and filters, the job you asked about, and, if you ask it to subscribe you to the digest, your email address. We do not receive your conversation. Searches and job views from the app are recorded as job activity (section 1), labelled with which assistant sent them. The address recorded is the one the request came from: depending on how the assistant runs the app, that is the assistant provider's server or your own device. We also keep a log of each tool the app runs: which assistant, the search terms and filters or the job asked about, and how many jobs matched. That log holds no email address and no IP address. A digest signup from the app follows the same confirm-by-email process as one on the website. Your conversation itself is governed by OpenAI's or Anthropic's privacy policy.

3. How we use it

  • To run the job board and the app, and to show you jobs.
  • To send the emails you asked for (the digest, job alerts, account emails).
  • To give employers aggregate statistics on their listings.
  • To prevent abuse and keep the service secure.
  • To understand what is used and improve it.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Who processes it for us

  • Brevo: sending email and managing subscriptions.
  • Stripe: employer payments.
  • Google: Analytics, reCAPTCHA and, if you use it, Sign in with Google.
  • Meta: the Meta Pixel.
  • Microsoft: Clarity, for page-use recordings.
  • PostHog: product analytics.
  • Cloudflare: delivering the website.
  • logo.dev: company logos, which your browser loads from their servers.

Job listings themselves come from employers' career pages through Jobven, our job data service; they contain no information about you.

5. How long we keep it

  • Account details: for as long as your account exists.
  • Email subscription records: kept after you unsubscribe, so that we keep honouring the unsubscribe. A signup that was never confirmed is not used, but its record is kept.
  • Job activity records: kept, and removed when the job they refer to is removed.
  • The app's tool log (section 2): deleted after 180 days.

You can ask us to delete your information at any time (section 6).

6. Your choices

  • Every email we send has an unsubscribe link.
  • You can block or delete cookies in your browser; some parts of the site may then not work.
  • To see, correct or delete what we hold about you, email [email protected].
