OVERVIEW:

The Shift Lead Security is responsible for overseeing casino security operations during an assigned shift while actively performing frontline security duties. This dual-role position combines the leadership responsibilities of a Security Supervisor with the operational responsibilities of a Security Officer, ensuring the safety and security of guests, employees, assets, and property while maintaining compliance with gaming regulations, company policies, and applicable legislation.

The Shift Lead Security acts as the primary point of contact for security-related incidents during their shift, providing guidance and direction to security team members while responding to emergencies, disturbances, and customer service situations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties as aSecurity Supervisor:

  • The manager isaccountableto his or herstaff,assistingwith hiring, training, evaluations,recognitionand development.

  • Responsible for the protection of company assets and the reporting and arrest of criminals, ensuring the maintenance of peace and order for guests and fellow employees.

  • Provides first aid and medical attention asrequired.

  • Presents astrong presence on the gaming floor.

  • Deliversexceptional customer service and ensurescompliance with Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) regulations and other applicable laws,policiesand regulations.

  • Creates an atmosphere that induces guests to make Hard Rock their choice for gaming entertainment; responsible for actively building andretainingguest relations and acts as a mentor to team membersin order toprovide superior guest service.

Duties as a Security Officer:

  • ExhibitconductinaccordancewithallAlcoholGamingCommissionOntario(AGCO)Regulations.

  • Ensuresthatpropersecurityisprovidedforalltransfersofmonieswithinthecasino.

  • Assistpatrons with a wide variety of inquiries and situations including providing information about the property and events,givingdirectionsandpossiblyescortingthem ifnecessary.

  • Preparedetailedincidentreportsinaclearandprecisemanner.

  • Patrolthecasinoareastoestablishasecuritypresenceandreportallunusualsituationsand/orsuspiciouspersons.

  • Assistinthecoordinationandresolutionofemergencysituations.

  • Assistinmaintainingproperkeycontrol.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to ensuring responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service by discreetly notifyingappropriatemanagersofconcerns and observations.

  • DemonstrateactionsandbehaviorsthatreinforcetheCompany’sMissionandValuesofCommunication,Integrity,Fun,Respect,Accountability,PassionandDedication.

  • Ensurepromptanddiscreetnotificationtomanagersofanyobservationofillegalactsorinternalethicsviolations.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION AND/OR EXPIERENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of a post-secondary diploma in Law and Security or a related field

  • Proficiencyin standard computer applications and systems relevant to security operations

  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification, along with Non-Violent Intervention certification

  • Possession of a valid Class G driver’s license with a clean driving record preferred

  • Ability to obtain andmaintainregistration as a Category1Gaming Assistant with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO)

  • The ability to obtain a SmartServe License

  • A secondary school diploma, with preferencetograduates with a post-secondary education in Law and Security.

  • A minimum of one (1) or more years of experience in a Security related field or gaming related positions (Cage, Slot, Table Games or Audit).

  • Knowledge of computer applications.

  • Casino Surveillance or related surveillance experienceanasset

  • Must obtain andmaintainall licenses / certifications per Federal,Provincial,and GamingCommission. 

  • Prior experience opening new properties/outlets preferred.

  • Must beNineteen(19) years of age.

  • Must be able towork onholidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  

  • Ability to stand and sit for extended periods of time. 

  • Ability to frequently move objects (lift, push, pull, balance, carry) up to 50 pounds. 

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move 25 pounds or more. 

  • Specific vision abilities that may be required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision,depth perception and ability to adjust focus. 

  • The work environmental characteristics described here may be representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. 

  • The Casino environment is hectic, fast-paced and often crowded and noisy. 

  • Duties and responsibilities are typically performed in a professional office setting, but there may be times when you will need to be on the Casino Floor or pass through this area. On the Casino Floor, you may be exposed to casino-related environmental factors including, but not limited to, excessive noise.

Duties and responsibilities are typically performed in a highly regulated and controlled environment, but there will be times when you will need to be on the Casino Floor to complete job functions as outlined or pass through this area.
