The Fraud Product Consultant is a member of a Program/Project team, dedicated full time to the development and delivery of project outcomes. The Product Consultant will function as a product SME representing the Investigative Services and Enterprise Fraud on projects that move the fraud management  strategy forward. Working as a member of program/project teams this role participates in project work, project research, solution feasibility, problem solving, risk identification and mitigation and execution of deliverables. The Product Consultant will continually collaborate on decision making, solution and implementation considerations with partners from the respective  business areas supported including but not limited to Claims, Underwriting, Product, Digital and RSS.

How you will create impact: 

  • Work as a member of the Project Team, in conjunction with Analytics, BI, Project Managers, Change Consultants, IT, Claims, Product, Underwriting, distribution, Learning, to develop and deliver on program/projects outcomes.
  • Function as an SME representing Investigative Services and Enterprise Fraud, providing expertise on business strategy, business operations, tactics, guidelines, processes, and procedures related to the project purpose and outcomes.
  • Actively engage or leading project work, including project research, reach out to both internal and external partners to gather more information, building solutions, problem solving, identifying risks, review/consult on training material. Dedicated fully to project work.
  • Working with internal and external partners to propose & explore solutions to problems in alignment with the program purpose and objectives.
  • Building collaborative and engaging relationships with project teams, stakeholders, and business partners
  • Understand risks, and short and long impacts for solutions that will be implemented through the business.
  • Help identify and monitor issues and opportunities for improvement, adapting to changing priorities and assist in communicating the impact and facilitating solutions to support initiatives.
  • Anticipate and assist with the management of project issues. Communicate the impact of these issues and facilitate solutions.
  • Have awareness and/or identify interconnectivity between projects; think critically about the impacts of that interconnectivity and share insights with SR Product Manager and Program Manager. 
  • Ability to understand and articulate how the project aligns with advancing the organizational strategy
  • Communicate and negotiate with project team members, business stakeholders and external partners. This includes leading, coordinating, chairing and facilitating high level requirement meetings.
  • Continuous and ongoing collaboration with change to identify additional stakeholders through the duration of the program/project.
  • Participating in the planning process to align objectives with organizational priorities, assisting with the development, implementation and management of plans, priorities, and project schedules
  • Plan and organize sub-streams and meetings to be productive and efficient with work tasks, to achieve deliverables.
  • Identify opportunities within projects to improve delivery, maintainability, and usability.
  • Apply project learnings to future project work.

To join our team:

  • You have a post-secondary education in Business or a related discipline.
  • You have completed a post-secondary education in Business or a related discipline.
  • You have completed the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation or other related designation.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Business experience working on projects and including a broad understanding of The Co-operators structure and the high-level roles of the departments within the group of Companies.
  • You have strong technical experience and knowledge of business process improvement and project management practices using various methodologies and successful project life cycle experience.

How you will succeed:

  • Strong technical product experience.
  • Familiarity with project management concepts and the development and implementation of project plans.
  • Demonstrated experience in workflow/process design and development and knowledge of core business functions
  • Fraud detection, investigation, suppression and prevention expertise

Salary information

Expected salary/hourly range $72,847 - $121,411

Salary placement

The salary amount for the successful candidate is determined by Co-operators in its discretion and will vary depending on several criteria including but not limited to: local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualification, experience and education.

Incentive/Variable pay

Employees may also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn additional compensation tied to individual and/or business performance, or other business metrics.
