What you’ll b e doing
As part of the Content and Translation Chapter on the broader Experience Design &Enablement team, you’ll be writing, editing, evaluating andmanaging content for both our employe and client-facing digital tools and platforms. You’ll work closely with other Content Designers, Translators, UX Designers, Accessibility Consultants and UX Researche, as well as broader cross-functional teams and stakeholders engaged in active delivery sprints.
Our goal is to help makeour applications meet key business objectives while enabling the best experiences for our frontline users and clients. You’ll create content that aligns with CIBC’s voice and tone,brand guidelines, and accessibility standards. Thisrole requires expertise in thefollowing: contentplanning, creation and maintenance; user experience (UX) and conversational design principles; and stakeholder relations and executive presentationskills. Experience creating content for employee workflows and working on product teams in large financial financial institutions would be especially welcome.

As part of your daily work,you’llwork closelywith our Translation teamto coordinate their timelinesand needs,as part of overall content delivery.
Contentoperations -You’llhelpmaintainour content design systembysuggestingupdates toyour people leaderthat mayenhanceit.Youmayhelptoleadstyle guide reviewsordrivecontentenhancementsforthe productthatyoursquadssupport,as well as completecontent audits and shareyourfindings torecommend improvements.
Communication -You talk about your content and presentit to product teams and stakeholderswith authority, empathy, and clarity.Your solid interpersonal skills enhanceteamcollaborationwith stakeholders, product owners,and squad members, and youknow how touse different tools and resources to substantiate your contentrecommendations. Youchampionjargon-freeplain languageandadvocate forboth UX and fora client-first approachin any givendesign.
Development and collaboration -You’recomfortablemanaging and prioritizingmultiple initiatives at oncewithyourexcellent organization and time management skills.Youknow how to workwithcollaborative, cross-functionalteamsthatmayinclude developers,QAtesters, businessanalysts, product owners,strategistsandbusinesspartners, allwithinactiveagile workflows,frameworksand ceremonies.
Quality control andtools -Youcomfortablyuse multiple toolsin your day-to-day work,including Confluence, JIRA,Figma,Mural, CIBC AI,andMicrosoft365, alltohelpcreate,manage, deliver,and shareyour contentwithyourteams.Our chapterregularly assessesnewtools and technologytoimprove our work andbecome moreefficient, sofrom time to timeyou may be asked to testthese toolsand provideyourfeedback.
Research -Youmayparticipateinuser researchsessionsandhelpthe ResearchChaptergatherresults to makebettercontent recommendationsthat support platform adoption. You maypresentor help assemblepresentationsfor stakeholdersthathighlightchanges being proposed, and you mayassistin writing or editing video scriptsto promotenew featuresand enhancementscoming uponour platforms.

Who you are
Youhave a degreeordiploma inEnglish, Journalism,Communications,Creative Writing, TechnicalWriting, UX Writing, Content Strategy (orrelated fields),or equivalent working experience.
Youdemonstrateexperiencewithwritingandeditingcontentfor product flows, work thatfollows brand guidelines,meetsWCAGstandards, and supports strategic goals for both our clients and lines of business.
Youcontribute to,andenjoy,maintainingcontent style guidesorcontent design systems.You’refamiliar with Canadian Press (CP)styleanddisplay astrong understanding of content-creation strategies.
You understand that successisin thedetails. You notice things that othersdon’t. Youenjoy the puzzle of making things simpler and clearerforrealpeople.Your critical thinking skills inform your decision-making. You know how to share and present your content designstrategies effectively to support your choices, too.
