Are you looking to build HR Business Partner capability in a unionized, public-sector environment, with exposure to employee relations, labour relations, talent acquisition, and HR operations? We are seeking a Human Resources Advisor to support designated client groups by delivering expert and strategically driven HR advice. What You Will Do (but not limited to):

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing expert advice and guidance on complex HR matters.
  • Support the Sr. HRBP by conducting in-depth consultations with clients, offering strategic solutions and navigating them through intricate HR challenges with professionalism and expertise.
  • Demonstrate subject matterexpertiseand fostering client empowerment on HR best practices, compliance, and relevant legislative updates
  • Lead andfacilitatehigh-level client meetings, offering insights, recommendations, and strategic direction to address organizational HR needs and challenges.
  • Take ownership of complex HR cases, managing them through to resolution while building strong client relationships and rapport.
  • Stay abreast ofEmployment Standards Act (ESA) requirements, industry trends, legal developments, and best practices in HR and employment legislation, actively participatingin ongoing training and professional development initiatives.
  • Adhere to internal protocols and procedures for managing and escalating cases as necessary,demonstratingsound judgment and discretion in handling sensitive HR matters.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and maintenance of HR policies, programs, projects, and initiatives.
  • Develop, document, andmaintainStandard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to assigned HR functions.
  • Create and coordinate internal communications to support HR programs and initiatives.
  • Provide general HR support and administration across multiple functional areas.
  • Monitor and ensure job descriptions are current, accurately filed, andmaintainedin accordance withorganizational standards.
  • Respond to inquiries related to collective agreements, HR policies, procedures, and programs, ensuring consistency and equity.
  • Work directly with hiring managers to deliverfull-cycle recruitment for positions up to Senior Manager level, with back-up support for the Director-level roles.
  • Ensure all recruitment activitiescomply withcollective agreement provisions, HR policies, and applicable legislation, including the Human Rights Code and AODA.
  • Develop andmaintaintalent pipelines to support current and future recruitment needs.
  • Support thePeople Services Lead,in the development and execution of the organization’s recruitment strategy.
  • Collaborate with the Diversity, Inclusion & Accessibility (DI&A)team to adopt and embed inclusive recruitment practices.
  • Work with internal partners to ensure the HRIS supports efficient and effective talent acquisition processes.

You Have:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Labour Relations, or a related field.
  • Minimum five (5) years of progressive human resources experience, including:
  • High volume full cycle recruitment (technical andnon-technicalroles)
  • HR operations and administration
  • Labour relations in a unionized environment
  • Exposure to Total Rewards and HRIS
  • Demonstrated experience administering and interpreting a collective agreement.
  • Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems.
  • In depth knowledge of HR best practices, principles, policies, and procedures.
  • Strong understanding of employment and labour legislation, including ESA, AODA, OHS, and the Human Rights Code.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast paced, matrixed environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability toprovideclear advice and prepare professional correspondence.
  • Sound judgment, strongproblem-solving abilities, and effective decision-making skills.
  • High levelof discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively under pressure.
  • Proficiencyin MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Knowledge of conflict management principles and practices.
  • A self-starter with an enthusiasm for exceptional service delivery.
  • The successful candidate must be eligible to work in Canada and will be subject to a criminal background check.

Nice to Have:

  • Working toward CHRP or CHRL designation through HRPA is a strong asset.
  • Dayforce and/or Oracle Fusion experience is preferred.
