About us:
ACTO is an Intelligent Field Excellence (IFE) platform built for life sciences that unifies human intelligence with Empathetic AI to help Sales, Medical, Market Access, and Marketing teams improve customer engagement and brand performance. With ACTO, biopharma companies can ensure field professionals are always competent, confident, and credible in face-to-face HCP interactions, while providing senior leaders and frontline managers with the insight they need to drive continuous field force effectiveness. As a validated platform compliant with FDA 21 CFR Part 11 and SOC 2 Type II certified, ACTO is the trusted partner for intelligent field excellence in the life sciences industry.
Role Summary:
As an Analytics Solutions Engineer, you will be part of our Data & Measurement team, responsible for designing, building, and delivering customer-facing analytics that pharma leaders rely on to run their commercial operations. This is a senior technical and customer-facing role, sitting at the intersection of dashboard build, data modelling, and strategic advisory. You will be the analytical voice in the room with pharma customers, guiding them on which metrics matter for their business and translating business context into meaningful analytical outputs.
In this role, you will be responsible for:● Designing, building, and delivering customer-facing analytics dashboards end-to-end, including:
○ requirements gathering with customer stakeholders; data modeling and semantic definition of business concepts
○ dashboard design and build in Tableau
○ validation of analytical output for accuracy and business relevance
○ delivery, presentation, and ongoing iteration with customers
● Writing clean, performant SQL against our data platform.
● Leading customer conversations to understand business context, and guiding customers on the right metrics and visualizations for their business needs.
● Translating customer business language into data requirements, and analytical work back into business narratives that leadership can act on.
● Presenting analytical work to senior customer stakeholders — VPs of Commercial, Heads of Analytics, and Executive Sponsors — with clarity and specificity.
● Serving as a trusted analytical advisor to your customer accounts, spotting opportunities they haven't seen and recommending approaches that shape their commercial strategy.
● Partnering with our data platform team to shape how our analytical capabilities evolve, including the transition from Tableau-based delivery to native ACTO analytics tooling with built-in AI capabilities.
● Working cross-functionally with product, engineering, and customer success to continuously improve the value we provide.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
● 7-8 years of experience building analytics and dashboards in a professional setting.
● Deep SQL expertise — analytical queries, query performance, dimensional modeling.
● Extensive hands-on experience with Tableau (Power BI or Looker acceptable if paired with strong Tableau familiarity or willingness to lead in Tableau).
● Strong data modeling instincts — facts, dimensions, semantic layers, measures.
● Demonstrated data quality discipline — knowing how to validate that analytical output is correct, not just that it renders.
● A track record of senior-stakeholder engagement — you've been the analytical voice in the room with VPs, Directors, or Executive Sponsors.
● Demonstrated ability to translate business questions into analytical strategy and back into business narratives.
● Strong verbal and written communication — polished, specific, credible.
● Judgment about when to push back on a customer request and when to build what they asked for.
● Executive presence — poise in the room, clarity in explanations, a bias toward specific recommendations over generalities.
● Comfort using AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, or similar) in your daily workflow, and informed opinions about where AI adds value in analytics.
● A collaborative disposition, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to receive and integrate feedback.
● Strong sense of ownership, showing resourcefulness in the face of challenges.
Bonus points if you have:
● Pharma or life sciences industry experience — commercial operations, HCP engagement, MSL workflows, sales rep enablement.
● Consulting or advisory background in analytics.
● Python for data manipulation.
● Familiarity with modern data stack tools (dbt, Snowflake, Airflow, or similar).
● Experience shaping product requirements as analytical platforms evolve.
● Prior work at the intersection of data and AI.
What you’ll enjoy about ACTO:
● Industry leading, multiple award-winning technology
● Competitive compensation package
● Being part of a mission driven organization with the ability to drive solutions that focus on improving patient outcomes
● Results-driven and collaborative culture
● Company MacBook
● Flex hours (overlapping with our core hours)
● Flexible PTO
