Job Description

We invite you to join the world of hospitality at Sheraton Suites Calgary Eau Claire as our new Sales Manager. This role brings the hotel’s brand, personality, and exceptional guest experience to life through meaningful client relationships, strategic sales, and thoughtful business development.

As a Sales Manager, you will be responsible for growing hotel business and strengthening the property’s position within the hospitality market. Working closely with other members of the Sales, Catering & Marketing team, you will create tailored experiences for clients while driving revenue, building long-term partnerships, and representing the hotel with confidence and care.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

• Achieve and exceed assigned sales revenue goals through proactive business development, strategic account management and consistent sales pipeline generation.
• Drive new business by actively researching, prospecting and converting opportunities, while developing new accounts and nurturing existing accounts to generate business that supports monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue goals.
• Own the sales journey from initial inquiry through proposal, negotiation, contracting, and turnover to Catering, ensuring a seamless client experience.
• Build and strengthen relationships with clients, meeting planners, industry partners, and the global sales network.
• Grow your assigned market and strengthen the hotel’s competitive position by actively researching and connecting with clients across assigned markets and segments to identify trends, uncover opportunities, and convert new business.
• Champion the hotel’s presence at tradeshows, conventions, industry networking events, and promotional initiatives, actively building relationships and generating qualified business opportunities.
• Lead and contribute to Sales & Catering Team initiatives.
• Pursue professional development through departmental training, self-guided learning and industry engagement to strengthen sales expertise and market knowledge.
• Jointly train and develop Sales Coordinator, providing coaching and hands on support to grow sales capability.

Client & Guest Experience

• Act as an authentic ambassador for the hotel, our brand and Calgary, bringing the destination to life for clients and guests.
• Plan and conduct tailored, professional site visits that showcase the hotel, its offerings, and the destination, while creating compelling reasons to select the hotel.
• Create personalized sales experiences that reflect the hotel’s luxury positioning, and anticipate and respond to each client’s unique needs.
• Embody a luxury mindset by consistently delivering warm, genuine and engaging service to both internal and external guests, clients and partners.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hotel sales experience, preferably within a luxury, upscale, or full-service environment, with a proven ability to achieve revenue goals.
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Strong critical thinking, negotiation and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop and deliver on commercial action plans and creative solutions that drive results.
• Proficiency in various applications and tools including Microsoft Office, CI/TY, Cvent.
• Goal oriented, competitive, and a role model in pro-active sales activities and initiatives.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while collaborating across departments.
• Positive attitude, team-based approach to support attainment of the hotel’s short and long-term goals.
• Professional, polished, and confident presence with the ability to represent the hotel and its brand with authenticity.
• Flexibility to support occasional evenings, weekends, travel, tradeshows, client events, and special projects.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to move throughout the hotel and event spaces as required to support clients, colleagues, and business needs.
