  • Competitive Salary range starting at $69,600. Final compensation will be determined based on skills, relevant experience, and alignment with the role’s core and advanced competencies. Candidates with deeper expertise or specialized knowledge may be placed toward the upper portion of the range

What you will be doing:

This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence employee wellbeing, workplace safety, and organizational culture while supporting a world-class hospitality environment.  The key responsibilities of the role focus on Health, Safety & Disability Management; Benefits, Pension & Wellness Administration and HRIS & Payroll Administration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and continuously improve the hotel's Health & Safety Management System.
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety legislation, corporate standards, and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain health & safety policies, procedures, training programs, and safe work practices.
  • Co-chair the Joint Health & Safety Committee and support workplace inspections, hazard assessments, and corrective action plans.
  • Manage the Certificate of Recognition (COR) program, including audits, action plans, and certification requirements.
  • Analyze workplace injury and safety trends and recommend strategies to reduce incidents and costs.
  • Administer WorkSafeBC claims, short-term disability claims, attendance support programs, workplace accommodations, and return-to-work initiatives.
  • Support employee wellness programs and emergency preparedness activities.
  • Serve as the primary resource for employee benefits, disability, pension, retirement, and wellness programs.
  • Administer group benefits, pension, and retirement plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations.
  • Provide education and guidance to employees regarding benefit and retirement programs.
  • Coordinate benefits reporting, premium recovery processes, and related financial reconciliations.
  • Administer and maintain HR systems, including Dayforce and other people management platforms.
  • Ensure employee records are accurate, confidential, and up to date.
  • Process employee data transactions and support payroll administration in collaboration with Finance.
  • Prepare workforce reports, metrics, and analytics to support decision making.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

  • Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Occupational Health & Safety, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including benefits, disability management, and occupational health & safety.
  • Internal COR-auditor Certification an asset.
  • Experience with HRIS systems, preferably Dayforce.
  • Strong knowledge of employment, labour, privacy, and occupational health & safety legislation.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
