Job Description

As a Bartender in Social, you’ll be the energy behind the bar and the architect of great evenings. With precision, product knowledge, and genuine hospitality, you’ll deliver standout bar service that reflects the pulse and personality of Banff’s most lively venue. 

This is a role for professionals who blend speed and skill with creativity and consistency. Whether you're crafting a signature cocktail, recommending a local brew, or simply connecting with guests, you’ll play a key part in creating experiences that move people. 

What You'll Be Doing

Guest Connection & Beverage Craftsmanship 

• Prepare all beverages (cocktails, wine, beer, spirits, and non-alcoholic options) to specification with precision
• Engage with guests, make thoughtful recommendations, and anticipate their needs.
• Deliver bar service from order through to payment, ensuring seamless food and drink service at the bar. 
• Pair drinks with dishes confidently, leveraging wine and culinary knowledge. 
• Represent Social’s energy and quality in every guest interaction. 

Operational Excellence 

• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar throughout service.
• Complete daily prep, restocking, and bar setup with diligence. 
• Support floor staff during peak times by running drinks and assisting with bar-related service. 
• Assist with inventory management, stock rotation, and reporting as required. 
• Follow all Alberta Health & Safety and Responsible Alcohol Service regulations. 

Team & Culture 

• Contribute to a positive, high-performance team culture centered on accountability, respect, and precision. 
• ​​​​​​​Communicate clearly and professionally with all team members—kitchen, bar, and floor. 
• Embody the values of care, excellence, and purpose in every shift. 
• Remain calm and composed in a high-volume, high-pressure environment. 

Qualifications

What You Bring 

• Alberta ProServe Certification required. 
• Previous bartending experience in a luxury hotel, restaurant, or high-end bar environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of cocktails, beer, spirits, and wine. 
• Familiarity with Micros POS and cash/card transaction handling. 

Bonus If You Bring 

• WSET or other formal beverage certifications 
• Prior experience in Banff or Bow Valley hospitality scene 
• A strong interest in beverage trends and innovation

While social and upbeat in guest interactions, you prefer meaningful, respectful communication over showmanship—and your professionalism shines through in every detail.
