We are a remote-first company that comes together&nbsp;intentionally through team meetups, regional gatherings, and an annual company offsite.</p> <p>About the Role:</p> <p>We're looking for a Senior Accountant to own the day-to-day accounting operations that keep ZestyAI&nbsp;running smoothly and our books audit-ready. This role reaches across the entire general ledger — from&nbsp;accounts payable and receivable to billing, employee expenses, cash, and month-end close — so you'll be&nbsp;equally comfortable cutting an invoice, chasing a collection, reconciling a bank account, and preparing a&nbsp;journal entry. It's a hands-on seat at the heart of our finance/accounting team, and you'll partner closely with&nbsp;the Controller, Director of Finance, and cross-functional teams — with real ownership and room to grow as&nbsp;we scale.</p> <p>We're a remote-first company that moves fast, and we want someone who works smarter, not harder. If you're&nbsp;detail-obsessed, take pride in clean reconciliations, like to roll up your sleeves and get stuff done, and get a&nbsp;kick out of finding a better way, we'd love to meet you.</p> <p>What You'll Do:</p> <ul> <li>Accounts payable: Own the AP cycle — process and code vendor invoices, verify approvals, and prepare&nbsp;payment runs for release by an authorized approver, while maintaining strong vendor relationships.</li> <li>Accounts receivable: Manage the AR cycle end to end, including customer invoicing, collections, cash&nbsp;application, and follow-up on outstanding balances.</li> <li>Billing: Prepare and issue accurate, timely customer invoices in line with contract terms, and resolve&nbsp;billing questions and discrepancies.</li> <li>Cash reconciliation: Perform daily and monthly bank and cash reconciliations, ensuring transactions are&nbsp;recorded accurately and discrepancies are investigated and resolved promptly.</li> <li>Employee expense reports: Review and process employee expense reports for policy compliance,&nbsp;accuracy, and proper coding, and administer the corporate card program.</li> <li>Month-end close: Assist with a timely and accurate monthly close, including preparing journal entries,&nbsp;accruals, and supporting schedules.</li> <li>Account reconciliations: Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations, researching and clearing&nbsp;reconciling items on a timely basis for review by the Controller.</li> <li>Audit support: Assist with annual financial statement audits, including preparing schedules, gathering&nbsp;supporting documentation, and responding to auditor requests.</li> <li>Process &amp; controls: Help maintain and improve accounting policies, internal controls, and process&nbsp;documentation as the company scales.</li> <li>Automation &amp; AI: Actively look for ways to streamline and automate accounting workflows, bringing AI&nbsp;and modern tools into day-to-day tasks and into the systems we rely on.</li> <li>Ad hoc: Support special projects, system improvements, and cross-functional initiatives as needed.</li> </ul> <p>What You'll Bring:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.</li> <li>5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally spanning AP, AR, billing, and general ledger; a mix&nbsp;of public accounting and private industry is a plus.</li> <li>Solid working knowledge of US GAAP and full-cycle accounting.</li> <li>Hands-on experience with cloud accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar), advanced&nbsp;proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets, and experience with Ramp.</li> <li>Strong attention to detail, organization, and a demonstrated ability to meet close deadlines and manage&nbsp;competing priorities.</li> <li>Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the judgment to investigate and resolve&nbsp;discrepancies independently.</li> <li>Clear, professional communication skills and a collaborative, ownership-driven mindset.</li> <li>An AI-forward, work-smarter-not-harder approach, with a track record of using automation or AI tools to&nbsp;save time and improve accuracy in prior roles.</li> <li>Comfort operating in a fast-paced, remote-first environment where priorities can shift quickly.</li> </ul> <p>Nice to Have:</p> <ul> <li>CPA (or working toward it).</li> <li>Experience at a high-growth technology or SaaS company.</li> <li>Familiarity with revenue recognition (ASC 606) and SaaS billing workflows.</li> </ul> <p>The Team:</p> <p>Our finance team is small, flat, and hands-on.
