Position Overview

Under the general supervision of the Maintenance Coordinator or designate, the Trades Helper 2 - Carpentry is responsible for: assisting the carpenters with their duties including repairing flooring, doors, windows and furniture and woodwork on walls; installing and maintaining handrails; constructing millwork, walls and partitions; maintaining accurate documentation; assisting with maintaining stock control; and performing other related duties as assigned.

Experience

  • Four (4) years’ carpentry experience.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Grade 12.
  • Proficiency in trade practices will be tested.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

Not Applicable

Qualifications and Skills

  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and follow trade requirements and regulations.
  • Neat and tidy appearance.

Physical Requirements

  • Manual dexterity.
  • Physically able to carry and move loads up to 34 kgs.
