Salary:$65,065.00 - $73,473.40

JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Senior Department Head, assists in the printing, layout and installation of collection facsimiles and design elements for the Library Gallery and other exhibit spaces in the Library and for public orders.

DUTIES:

  • Prints and installs gallery and display design elements 
  • Prints and handles collection reproduction orders for the public
  • Prints facsimiles of collection materials for gallery exhibitions
  • Prepares and proofs material for print for gallery exhibitions, public displays and public orders
  • Maintains and archives organized digital and physical files
  • Works with other staff and customers individually or as part of a team in determining their reproduction and/or installation requirements
  • Reviews developments in the photographic print industry and makes recommendations on software
  • Orders and stores supplies as required
  • Responsible for the cleanup and maintenance of the exhibition and display spaces
  • Performs other related duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of an art college or recognized school of design or equivalent with specialization in photography. Portfolio required
  • two years’ experience in exhibition print production and installation
  • Understanding and appreciation of the philosophy of public service to all, in accordance with human rights legislation and the principles of equity and access in the delivery of library service
  • Ability to produce high quality print reproductions and design elements based on the finalized design 
  • Ability to meet competing deadlines and work with a minimum of supervision
  • Knowledge of various printing processes, photographic and scanning equipment
  • Good organizational skills and ability to work independently while meeting deadlines on a day-to-day basis
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, teamwork, and customer service skills.
