Expected Salary Range: $90810 - $113512 Annually

Target Variable Performance Pay: 8%

The salary range shown above reflects the expected  compensation for this position.The final salary offered will be determined based on a holistic assessment of the candidate’s experience, education, training, and alignment with the role’s requirements. For positions covered by a collective agreement, placement within the range will follow the applicable step or classification.

Reporting to the Manager, Records Services, the Asset Investment Analyst (GIS Analyst) will provide a wide range of engineering support services that will ensure technical soundness, reliability, safety and cost effectiveness of the utility and its Electrical Distribution Power System. The Asset Investment Analyst is responsible for data management, data analytics and business process improvements related to GIS (Geographic Information System) and Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) projects. The incumbent will play a critical role in shaping GIS and EAM application enhancement and upgrade activities through gap analysis, business process planning and stakeholder collaboration.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to enhance Asset Management capabilities through business process improvements, data governance, system implementation projects, GIS enhancement initiatives, and SAP data quality improvement programs.
  • Lead GIS enhancement activities and support the integration of GIS with Network Management Systems (NMS) and other enterprise applications to improve data accuracy, operational efficiency, and business performance.
  • Act as the GIS subject matter expert for Asset Management data, providing leadership in data governance, validation, issue resolution, and continuous improvement of asset-related information.
  • Develop and support enterprise data quality programs, including data standardization, validation, profiling, monitoring, and quality metrics reporting.
  • Analyze, validate, and maintain GIS, SAP and related asset data to ensure accuracy, completeness, consistency, reliability, and compliance with business requirements.
  • Conduct complex data analysis and develop reports, maps, dashboards, visualizations, and performance metrics to support operational, financial, regulatory, and strategic decision-making.
  • Support Finance and Asset Management teams by validating asset information, improving asset records, supporting asset capitalization processes, and contributing to regulatory filing requirements.
  • Assess the impacts, risks, dependencies, and opportunities associated with business process changes, data integrations, GIS/NMS initiatives, and GIS, SAP, or related system implementations and upgrades.
  • Develop process maps, workflows, business requirements, and documentation to improve operational efficiency, data integrity, and decision-making.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and maintenance of asset information management policies, procedures, standards, governance frameworks, and business rules.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to support asset information management, GIS modernization, data quality improvements, system integrations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide technical expertise, project leadership, and recommendations on emerging technologies, tools, industry best practices, and data management strategies to improve business performance and asset information management capabilities.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Information Systems, GIS/Geography, or a related discipline.
  • 3–5 years of experience in data management, data quality, business analysis, process improvement, and information management initiatives.
  • Strong experience with SQL, data preparation, data wrangling, and relational database systems.
  • Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and asset-related data management practices.
  • Experience transforming, analyzing, and reporting on large and complex datasets to support business decision-making.
  • Experience with SAP data management and data quality improvement initiatives; ability to act as a subject matter expert for asset and enterprise data.
  • Experience with Python, R, Alteryx, Tableau, and Power BI considered an asset.
  • Project management certification/designation considered an asset.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and business solution development skills with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change, drive continuous improvement, and identify opportunities to enhance business processes and data quality.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently, take ownership of deliverables, and maintain a high standard of excellence.
  • Demonstrated leadership, strategic thinking, and ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to assess emerging technologies and understand their impact on business strategies and operations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Access, Project, and Visio.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

This position is based in a hybrid environment allowing for remote work two days per week, based on business needs. Employees will be required to come onsite Tuesday to Thursday. You are expected to live in Ontario and within reasonable commuting distance of the office.
