What You'll Do

• Lead strategic communications planning and execution for capital projectsandoperational activities, aligning messaging with corporateobjectivesand stakeholderpriorities. 

• Drive continuous improvements in project communications byidentifyingopportunities to strengthen engagement and connect projectobjectivesto broader corporate priorities.

• Partner with business leaders and cross-functional teams to translate complex operational,commercialand regulatory topics into clear and effective communications.

• Provide communications counsel and issues management support,bymonitoringthe internal and external environment,identifyingemergingissuesanddevelopingproactivemediaresponses. 

• Supportexecutiveandsenior leaders with external speaking opportunitiesthatreinforcebusiness priorities, strengthen stakeholder understandingof the value and importance of the energy sector.

• Contribute to internal business communications,supportingan engaged andinspiredteam.

• Create messaging and materials tofacilitateengagement with communities, government representatives, Indigenouscommunitiesand other key stakeholders.

• Develop and implement scalable communications processes, tools and templates that improve consistency, efficiency, and effectiveness across projects.

• Provide mentorship,guidanceand strategic advice to communications team members, helping prioritize work, navigate complex stakeholderenvironmentsand achieve businessobjectives.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, politicalscienceora relatedfield.

• 10+ years of progressive experience in strategic communications, project communications, publicaffairsora relatedfield.

• Demonstrated ability to navigate complex regulatory,politicaland multi-stakeholder environments and translate insights into clear, strategic project communications that alignobjectives, mitigateriskand drive informed decision-making.

• Strong project management skills, including experience building workbacks, coordinating approvals, managingdependenciesand driving disciplined execution.

• Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to tailor messages for internal and external audiences and develop clear, concise communications materials.

• Strongissuesmanagement judgment, including the ability toanticipaterisks, assess implications and coordinate effective responses.

• Proven ability to work collaboratively across functions and with senior leaders in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

• Strong organizational skills, attention todetailand ability to manage competing priorities with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the energy sector or related regulated industries

• Experience supporting communications for capital projects, construction, energy infrastructure or other complex, high-profile initiatives.

• Experience working across Indigenous, community, government, media,workforceand internal communications files.

• Familiarity withissuesmonitoring, stakeholder mapping, communications planningtoolsand project tracking systems.

• Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution and strong follow-through.

• Experience working with agency partners,contractorsor cross-functional project teams.

• Professional, confident communicator with strong relationship-building and influencing skills

This position requires candidates to:

• Travel periodically, withovernight stays away from home.

• Occasionally be available for extended work hours outside of standard business hours to respond to on-call issues (early morning,eveningand weekend at times).

• Participate in our emergency response team and on-call rotation.
