Senior Director, Investment Execution – SLC Management

What is in it for you:

Reporting to the Managing Director, Portfolio Strategy and Analytics, the Senior Director, Investment Execution is responsible for leading the coordination, governance, and execution of complex investment transactions on behalf of the Office of the CIO (OCIO). Acting as a central point of integration across Investments, Tax, Legal, Risk, Finance, Operations, Asset Liability Management, and business stakeholders, the role ensures investment opportunities are evaluated, approved, and operationalized efficiently and in accordance with enterprise requirements.

This position serves as a strategic project manager and stakeholder lead throughout the investment lifecycle, including opportunity assessment, legal and tax review, operational readiness, funding execution, and ongoing portfolio monitoring. The role maintains visibility across the investment pipeline to support capital deployment decisions, portfolio construction objectives, and executive reporting requirements.

What you will do:

Investment Transaction Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Lead the end-to-end coordination and execution of complex investment opportunities across internal and external stakeholders.
• Establish governance structures, project plans, and decision-making forums to support timely execution and informed decision making.
• Coordinate investment team inputs including expected returns, leverage, investment structures, capital requirements, funding timelines, and other transaction-specific considerations.
• Serve as the primary liaison across investment teams, business partners, support functions, and external stakeholders, proactively managing risks, dependencies, and critical path activities.

Investment Due Diligence & Recommendation Development

• Coordinate the development of investment recommendations, business cases, and approval materials to support investment decisions.
• Gather and synthesize input from investment, tax, legal, risk, operational, and finance stakeholders to ensure recommendations address regulatory, capital, operational, and risk considerations.
• Support the preparation of investment memoranda and presentations for senior management, investment committees, and other governance bodies.

Tax Review Coordination

• Lead the coordination of local and global tax reviews for fund investments and strategic transactions.
• Facilitate collaboration between investment and tax teams to assess investment structures, tax efficiency, jurisdictional considerations, and blocker requirements.
• Establish clear ownership and accountability across business groups and legal entities to streamline reviews and support the resolution of complex cross-border tax matters.

Legal & Regulatory Coordination

• Coordinate legal and regulatory reviews of fund documentation, including LPAs, PPMs, subscription agreements, and related materials.
• Partner with Legal, business teams, and external stakeholders to resolve issues, satisfy KYC/AML and entity documentation requirements, and support transaction execution.
• Ensure investment opportunities comply with applicable regulatory, legal, and governance requirements.

Risk, Capital & Governance Oversight

• Coordinate risk, capital, and governance reviews with second-line and independent oversight functions.
• Facilitate effective challenge and review processes to ensure transactions appropriately address regulatory, capital, and risk management requirements, including LICAT and local capital considerations.
• Track governance approvals, conditions, and action items through execution and completion.

Operational Readiness & Fund Onboarding

• Lead operational readiness and onboarding activities for newly approved funds and investment mandates.
• Coordinate implementation activities across Operations, Finance, Investment Operations, Technology, ALM, and external service providers, including funding readiness, tax structures, hedging requirements, and other pre-funding activities.
• Support ongoing execution activities related to private market fund commitments and strategic investment initiatives.

Portfolio Pipeline Management & Executive Reporting

• Maintain and enhance the OCIO investment pipeline and transaction tracking framework.
• Monitor investment opportunities from sourcing through funding and implementation, providing transparent reporting on status, risks, milestones, and resource requirements.
• Prepare executive reporting and governance materials for Corporate ALCO, senior leadership, and other decision-making forums.

What you need to succeed:

• Undergraduate degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, Law, or a related field.

• 7+ years of experience in institutional investments, asset management, investment operations, corporate strategy, transaction execution, or a related field.

• Strong understanding of private market investments, including real estate, private credit, and institutional portfolio construction.

• Knowledge of insurance capital frameworks, regulatory requirements, governance processes, and risk management principles.

• Experience partnering across investment, tax, legal, finance, treasury, operational, and risk functions to execute complex initiatives.

• Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects, influence senior stakeholders, and drive decisions in a complex organizational environment.

• Strong project management, problem-solving, and executive communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes.

• Demonstrated success coordinating investment transactions, governance reviews, operational onboarding, and executive reporting while ensuring regulatory, tax, capital, and risk considerations are appropriately addressed.
