Hourly Wage: $23.73/ hour

Status: Temporary Casual Contract ends July 2027

Start Date: ASAP

Schedule: 6:30am-1:30pm (every Tuesday and Thursday)

Reporting to the Food Service Manager, you’ll assist with meal preparation, serve meals with care, and ensure that kitchen and dining areas are clean, safe, and welcoming. You’ll also help accommodate individual dietary needs and contribute to a warm, home-like atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Ensuring food is handled in a safe manner, including proper storage and labeling
• Assisting cooks in basic food preparation
• Executing proper food service in relation to internal and external guidelines and protocols
• Serving meals according to Resident diet orders
• Washing, cleaning and maintaining the kitchen and dining room

Knowledge and Skills Required: 

• Mandatory enrollment or completion of a College Level Food Service Worke r Program, meeting the requirements of the Ontario Long-Term Care Homes Act
• Possess a current Safe Food Handling Certificate is mandatory
• Have a caring heart with a passion for serving others
• Passion for providing quality care to residents in a long-term care setting
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Demonstrated ability to be a team player

Additional requirements: 

• A negative vulnerable sector check completed within 6 months of hire date.

• Completion of a 2 Step TB Skin test within the last 12 months.
