The A&A group at SB Partners LLP is expanding. We are seeking a motivated, collaborative and relationship-focusedManager, Audit & Assuranceto join our team.

Purpose of the position:

The Manager, Audit & Assurance is responsible for leading assurance, compilation, and advisory engagements for owner-managed businesses and not-for-profit organizations. The Manager oversees the planning, execution, review, and timely completion of client engagements while ensuring compliance with professional standards, firm policies, and applicable accounting and tax requirements. The Manager will play a key role in coaching, mentoring, and developing team members and CPA candidates through meaningful on-the-job training and continuous feedback.

Key responsibilities and duties:

● Lead and review audit, review, and compilation engagements for owner-managed businesses and not-for-profit organizations, ensuring financial statements prepared under ASPE and ASNPO comply with applicable professional standards and firm quality requirements.

● Review and oversee the preparation and filing of corporate and personal income tax returns, related tax compliance filings, information returns, and tax slips (T4, T5, T5018, and other required filings), ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable legislation and professional standards.

● Identify and resolve accounting, assurance, tax, and business-related issues while leveraging the guidance and support of partners to deliver practical, proactive business advice and value-added solutions to clients.

● Maintain strong working relationships with clients and serve as a primary point of contact on assigned engagements.

● Oversee engagement budgets, realization, workflow, scheduling, and resource allocation, ensuring effective utilization of team members and the successful completion of engagements in accordance with firm quality standards, budgets, and deadlines.

● Meet established turnaround times and metrics by using time management and organization skills.

● Foster a positive team environment that promotes collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

● Provide meaningful on-the-job training, coaching, and development opportunities for team members and CPA candidates, including the review of completed work and timely feedback to support technical excellence, professional growth, and progression through the CPA program.

● Delegate effectively by assigning work that appropriately challenges team members and supports their professional growth and development.

● Support firm initiatives, process improvements, recruiting activities, and community involvement programs.

What you offer:

● Minimum 4 years of relevant public accounting experience.

● 1-2 years of supervisory experience, preferred.

● Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.

● Comprehensive knowledge of the application of financial accounting and tax principles, in addition to identifying file issues as they apply to NTR’s.

● Demonstrated ability to review work, provide constructive feedback, and support the development of CPA candidates and emerging professionals.

● Outstanding attention to detail.

● Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

● Strong knowledge of Canadian corporate and personal taxation.

● Strong working knowledge of ASPE, ASNPO, and Canadian assurance standards.

● Dedication to client service.

● Commitment to a culture of continuous improvement.

● Strong problem-solving, collaboration, critical thinking, team building, and presentation skills.

● Ability to manage multiple concurrent engagements, deadlines, and competing priorities.

This posting is to fill a newly created position. The annual salary range for this role is $95,000-$120,000. Compensation within the posted range will be based on the successful candidate's qualifications, experience and skills.
