Job Overview:
The Equipment Specialist will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and operational efficiency of Primoris Services Corporation's heavy equipment fleet across various project sites. This role ensures equipment readiness, minimizes downtime, and supports overall project success.
Job Responsibilities:**
* Perform routine preventative maintenance on a wide range of heavy construction equipment, including excavators, dozers, loaders, cranes, and specialized machinery.
* Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems issues.
* Execute repairs, overhauls, and replacements of components such as engines, transmissions, hydraulic pumps, and electrical systems.
* Conduct pre-operation inspections and post-repair testing to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, parts used, and equipment performance.
* Collaborate with project managers and operators to schedule maintenance and minimize operational disruptions.
* Order and manage spare parts inventory, ensuring availability for critical repairs.
* Adhere to all safety protocols, company policies, and environmental regulations.
* Provide technical support and guidance to equipment operators as needed.
* Travel to various job sites as required to perform equipment service and repair.
Job Qualifications:**
* High School Diploma or equivalent; technical certification or Associate's degree in Diesel Mechanics, Heavy Equipment Technology, or a related field preferred.
* Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience maintaining and repairing heavy construction equipment.
* Proven expertise in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems (12V/24V), and power trains.
* Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic software.
* Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in various outdoor and challenging environments.
* Excellent communication and organizational skills.
* Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; CDL preferred.
* Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and perform physically demanding tasks.
* Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
