Civil/mechanical Equipment Operator (driver) Rockhound

Job Overview:

Job Summary:**

Operate heavy civil and mechanical equipment, primarily large dump trucks (Rockhounds), for the transportation and distribution of materials on construction sites, ensuring safety and efficiency.

Job Responsibilities:**

* Safely and efficiently operate Rockhound trucks to transport and dump various materials such as rock, dirt, and aggregates.
* Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned equipment, reporting any defects or necessary repairs.
* Adhere to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and site-specific regulations.
* Coordinate with ground personnel and other equipment operators to ensure smooth material flow and site logistics.
* Maintain accurate daily logs of equipment operation, mileage, and materials hauled.
* Perform minor maintenance and cleaning of equipment as required.
* Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding project progress, issues, or safety concerns.
* Assist with other general labor duties on site when not operating equipment, as directed by supervision.
* Ensure proper loading and unloading of materials, observing weight restrictions and load securement protocols.

Job Qualifications:**

* High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
* Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B, with a clean driving record.
* Minimum of 2-3 years of experience operating heavy dump trucks, specifically Rockhounds or similar large capacity vehicles.
* Proven ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently in varying terrain and weather conditions.
* Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
* Ability to read and interpret construction plans and site maps is a plus.
* Strong commitment to safety and adherence to all company and OSHA regulations.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced construction environment.
* Physical ability to lift heavy objects, climb, stoop, and stand for extended periods.
* Flexibility to work extended hours, including weekends, as project demands require.
