Kitchen Coordinator / Cook

The Kitchen Coordinator is responsible for planning, preparing, and serving breakfast meals for approximately 95-120 individuals per day. The Kitchen Coordinator ensures the kitchen operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all Health Unit requirements while maintaining a respectful and welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare nutritious breakfast meals within the approved budget.
  
  
• Complete grocery shopping and manage food purchases responsibly.
  
  
• Maintain accurate food inventory and ensure adequate supplies are available.
  
  
• Label, date, rotate, and store food properly.
  
  
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and Health Unit requirements.
  
  
• Keep the kitchen, food storage areas, and equipment clean and organized.
  
  
• Monitor food waste and make effective use of available food and donations.
  
  
• Work with and provide direction to volunteers assisting in the kitchen.
  
  
• Ensure meals are prepared and ready for service on time.

• Foster a welcoming and positive environment for everyone accessing or supporting Centre 105 services.
  
  
• Accept feedback and direction from management and work collaboratively to address concerns.

Qualifications

• Experience preparing meals for large groups is an asset.
  
  
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
  
  
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  
  
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  
  
• Reliable, respectful, and committed to maintaining a positive workplace environment.

Working Conditions and Benefits

• Wage Range: $26.00-$28.00 per hour
• Full-Time: 37.5 Hours per week
• Working Hours: Monday to Friday: 6:30AM-2:00PM
