The Opportunity

MEMS is seeking an experienced and strategic leader to join our team as a Senior, Marketing & Business Development Professional – Canada.

This is a national leadership role responsible for shaping and executing MEMS' marketing, business development, client growth, and brand positioning strategies across Canada. Working closely with Executive Leadership, Service Group Directors, Regional Leaders, and Client Teams, you will help identify growth opportunities, strengthen strategic client relationships, increase market visibility, and lead initiatives that drive sustainable and profitable growth.

The successful candidate will combine strategic thinking with practical execution—bringing together marketing leadership, business development expertise, client relationship management, and market intelligence to support MEMS' next stage of growth.

What You'll Do

Strategic Marketing Leadership

• Lead the development and execution of MEMS' national marketing strategy.
• Strengthen brand awareness and market positioning across Canada.
• Oversee marketing campaigns, digital content, thought leadership initiatives, conferences, sponsorships, and client-facing materials.
• Ensure consistent messaging that clearly communicates MEMS' technical expertise and value proposition.

Business Development & Growth

• Develop and implement national business development strategies that support revenue growth and market expansion.
• Identify emerging opportunities across sectors, regions, and service lines.
• Guide strategic account planning and growth initiatives.
• Monitor business development performance, pipeline health, and pursuit activity.

Client & Partnership Development

• Build and strengthen relationships with key clients, industry partners, stakeholders, and Indigenous communities across Canada.
• Support and coach Client Team Leads in client engagement and growth planning.
• Foster a client-focused culture that emphasizes long-term relationships and trusted partnerships.

Pursuit & Proposal Leadership

• Provide leadership for major pursuits, strategic proposals, and go-to-market initiatives.
• Collaborate with technical and operational leaders to position MEMS for complex opportunities.
• Improve win strategies, competitive positioning, and proposal effectiveness.

Leadership & Organizational Development

• Build business development capability across the organization.
• Coach and mentor leaders and technical professionals in client development practices.
• Champion collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, and innovation.
• Serve as a senior organizational leader committed to developing future leaders and supporting company-wide success.

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Business, Marketing, Communications, Environmental Sciences, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience in marketing, business development, client growth, or professional services.
• Demonstrated success developing and executing growth strategies that drive measurable revenue and client expansion.
• Experience leading strategic pursuits, proposals, client relationship programs, and market development initiatives.
• Strong business acumen and ability to translate market intelligence into practical growth strategies.
• Exceptional communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills.

Preferred Experience

• Experience within environmental consulting, engineering consulting, infrastructure, energy, natural resources, or related professional services industries.
• Knowledge of Indigenous engagement, partnerships, and business development practices.
• Experience supporting geographically dispersed teams and national growth initiatives.
