About the Role (Job Summary):
McKesson Canada is seeking a strategic and results-oriented Sr. Director, Specialty Health Sales to lead revenue growth, new client acquisition, and strategic partnerships across our Specialty Health portfolio.
Reporting into senior leadership, you will lead a high-performing business development team responsible for expanding market share, identifying new commercial opportunities, and strengthening relationships across the healthcare ecosystem. This role combines strategic leadership, sales execution, and cross-functional collaboration to drive sustainable growth and reinforce McKesson's position as a leader in specialty healthcare solutions.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities):
Develop and execute the Specialty Health business development and sales strategy to achieve revenue growth and market expansion objectives.
Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of business development professionals, establishing clear goals, performance expectations, and development plans.
Own the Specialty Health business development budget, sales forecast, and pipeline performance.
Drive new business growth by identifying, evaluating, and securing strategic partnerships and customer opportunities.
Support and coach team members in customer meetings, solution development, presentations, and negotiations.
Monitor pipeline health, sales performance, forecasting accuracy, and customer engagement metrics.
Develop business cases, financial models, and commercial proposals to support growth opportunities.
Analyze healthcare market trends, competitive intelligence, and customer insights to inform strategic decision-making.
Collaborate with Marketing, Operations, Finance, Product, and other cross-functional partners to deliver customer-focused solutions.
Build and maintain executive-level relationships with key customers, partners, and industry stakeholders.
Ensure excellence in customer interactions, proposal development, and executive presentations.
Leverage internal subject matter experts to deliver innovative solutions that drive customer and business outcomes.
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
15+ years of demonstrated success in sales and/or marketing, with a consistent track record of achieving and exceeding business objectives within the healthcare industry.
Experience within the pharmaceutical industry (brand, generic, or biosimilar) or within the Specialty space.
Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales, revenue, and growth objectives.
Demonstrated success developing and executing strategic business development plans.
Experience managing complex sales cycles and enterprise-level customer relationships.
Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience working within matrixed organizations and leading cross-functional initiatives.
Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior healthcare leaders and decision-makers.
Expertise in contract negotiations and strategic partnership development.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
Experience leading large, geographically dispersed, high-performing sales teams.
Strong financial acumen, including forecasting, budgeting, business case development, and ROI analysis.
The incumbent of this position will provide daily support to internal and/or external clients outside Quebec and/or in the United States. Therefore, he/she must be proficient in spoken and written English. Please note that the number of positions requiring English language skills has been limited where possible.
