We have built connections with key opinion leaders who are already using the Globe System and are helping to tell our story.

We have obtained FDA approval and officially begun the commercial launch of the Globe® Pulsed Field System. This is a pivotal and exciting time in our journey, as we bring this life-changing technology to patients!

As a Systems Quality Engineer, you will investigate feedback and conduct technical investigations into product behaviour relative to requirements. This role is well suited to someone who enjoys solving technical problems, working though details, understanding how complex systems behave, and finding ways to make them better. You will collaborate cross-functionally to drive product and process improvements.

Please note, this opportunity is a hybrid work arrangement, located in Burnaby, BC.

Meaningful work you will be a part of

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Perform and document technical investigations into product feedback and complaints, with a focus on software, system, and hardware/software interaction issues
  • Review system recordings, log and configuration files, software logic, and product requirements to determine whether the system behaved as intended
  • Characterize reported issues, identify trends, and assess potential product risks
  • Perform root-cause investigations and translate findings into recommendations that improve product performance and reliability
  • Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Test, Quality Engineering, Risk Management, and subject matter experts to evaluate technical evidence and support investigation conclusions
  • Develop scripts or data analysis tools to support investigations, assess system performance, and analyze large technical datasets

What you bring to the team

You will be successful in this role because you possess these attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software, Mechatronics, Electrical, Biomedical Engineering, or a related engineering field
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in software, systems, design, or quality engineering, ideally in medical devices or another regulated, high-reliability industry
  • Hands-on experience investigating complex software or system-level issues using technical evidence to assess product behaviour against requirements
  • Practical experience with programming, scripting or data analysis using MATLAB, Java, C, or similar languages
  • Working knowledge of electrical signals, electrical design principles, and electrical failure modes
  • Strong written and verbal technical communication skills, including the ability to create clear documentation and share technical information effectively
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts to support technical problem solving
  • Self-motivated and curious, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Compensation

Kardium has listed the total cash compensation range (base salary + 5% Retirement Savings Plan contribution) that we expect to pay applicants for this role, as of the time of this posting. Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. For candidates with more or less experience than listed above, the pay range will be adjusted.

As a permanent employee, you will also participate in Kardium’s stock option plan.

  • $94,000 - $114,000 (CAD Annually)
