Director of Information Technology (IT)


Position Summary

The Director of IT is responsible for the overall leadership, strategy, and execution of the organization’s information technology systems and infrastructure. This role ensures that IT initiatives align with business objectives, supports operational efficiency, and maintains a secure, scalable, and high-performing technology environment.

Key Responsibilities

IT Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and execute the company’s IT strategy in alignment with business goals
  • Lead and mentor the IT team, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on technology trends and opportunities
  • Manage IT budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation

Infrastructure & Operations

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT systems, networks, and infrastructure
  • Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of systems and applications
  • Manage vendors, service providers, and technology partners
  • Drive continuous improvement of IT processes and service delivery

Cybersecurity & Compliance

  • Establish and enforce IT security policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Ensure data integrity, privacy, and compliance with applicable regulations (e.g., GDPR, SOC 2, etc.)
  • Oversee risk management and incident response planning

Business Systems & Innovation

  • Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve efficiency and scalability
  • Partner with business leaders to understand operational needs and deliver technical solutions
  • Lead digital transformation initiatives and process automation efforts

Project & Change Management

  • Oversee IT projects from planning through execution and delivery
  • Establish project governance frameworks and track KPIs
  • Manage change initiatives and ensure smooth adoption across the organization

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • 8–12+ years of progressive IT experience, including leadership roles
  • Proven experience managing IT infrastructure, systems, and teams

Technical Expertise

  • Strong knowledge of networks, cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure), and enterprise systems
  • Experience with cybersecurity frameworks and compliance standards
  • Familiarity with business applications, ERP/CRM systems, and integrations

Leadership & Skills

  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Experience managing budgets and vendor relationships
