About You
HDR is seeking a Structural BIM Designer to support the delivery of complex building and infrastructure projects across Canada and North America.
In this role, you will contribute directly to the development of structural models, drawings, and coordinated design packages, working within an integrated, multi-disciplinary team environment. You will be actively involved from early design through construction, supporting the production of high-quality, coordinated deliverables aligned with project requirements and schedules.
Reporting to the Technical Specialist – Mass Timber, you will work alongside structural engineers and other discipline leads to develop and maintain BIM models, prepare detailed drawings, and support coordination with architectural, MEP, and civil teams. The role requires a strong understanding of structural systems, constructability, and BIM workflows within a collaborative delivery environment. In this role, you will also play a key part in translating mass timber design concepts into coordinated, constructible models and drawings. The quality and clarity of your modeling work will directly influence how these structures are realized in the field.
Our project portfolio spans a diverse range of sectors, including educational, civic, defense, data centers, healthcare, industrial, water/wastewater, and commercial developments. Projects are located across North America.
Our ideal candidate will have a passion for innovation, collaboration, new experiences, opportunities and exceeding client expectations. Our goal is to help our clients achieve high performance in safety, quality, cost efficiency and profitability for their capital projects and on-going operations.
Please note that shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a Revit skills assessment to demonstrate their proficiency with Revit software focused on typical structural/Mass Timber project workflows.
