GFL Environmental is looking for anExcavatorOperatorto join our team in Mildred Lake just north ofFort McMurray, AB! The ideal candidate will have the ability to operate various excavators and other necessary machinery todeblock, load, and move sulfur material efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate excavators and other heavy equipment to deblock, load, and move sulfur material efficiently.

  • Steer, guide, and/or drive assigned equipment using controls such as steering wheels, shifters, levers, buttons, and pedals.

  • Communicate effectively via two-way radio with co-workers in the field and officeregardingwork activities and daily priorities.

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, provincial, and local laws, as well as company policies and safety regulations.

Requirements:

  • Proven ability tooperatevarious excavators and other equipment safely and efficiently.

  • Ability to obtainTransfer Station/Landfill Operations Certificationifrequired.

  • Proven ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle multiple variables in a standardized setting.

  • Ability to read and understand equipment gauges and perform basic mathematical functions.

  • Physical capability tofrequentlylift/push/pull up to25 poundsand occasionally up to50 pounds.

  • Class 3 License with Air Brakes Endorsementis an asset.
