What we are looking for:

Under the supervision of the Vice President & Senior Portfolio Manager, Integrated Fixed Income, the Analyst will assist the investment team in the management and research of corporate bonds and preferred shares. More specifically, the analyst’s responsibilities will range from conducting and supporting issuer credit analysis to assisting the team in many aspects of day-to-day portfolio management. The chosen candidate will work alongside members of one of Canada's top-performing fixed income teams, which is directly responsible for the active management of over $25 billion in assets.

This role is well suited for a young professional who is interested in financial markets and who wants to work in a dynamic, fast-paced investment management environment. The successful candidate will work closely with portfolio managers and analysts in supporting the team’s investment process while also collaborating with data teams and technology partners to improve the way front-office teams’ access, integrate, and use data in their daily investment processes.

The role will have direct inputs into the development of front-office applications, including standalone tools, dashboards, portfolio monitoring applications, trading-related tools, and reporting solutions.

In addition to contributing to the credit process, the role requires a strong willingness to learn and become familiar with the tools and technologies used to connect front-office applications with data sources and enterprise systems.

We are currently looking to hire two Analysts (Analyst and/or Junior Analyst) for this team, with one position based in Montreal and one position based in Toronto.

Your responsibilities:

• Under the direction of the IFI Credit Committee, contribute to and conduct fundamental credit analysis including making investment recommendations on assigned credit issuers and specific sectors;
  • Document and report on credit analysis and relevant news to the Fixed Income team;
  • Meet with corporate management teams, investment bankers and analysts;
  • Make investment recommendations and monitor the risk budgets of bonds strategies within assigned sectors;
  • Provide general support to the team in the management of corporate bond and preferred share strategies.
• Act as a liaison between the Front-Office team and data teams / technology partners to enhance the team’s integration of AI, data visualization and platform development into the investment process.
• Assist the team in tailoring, gathering and analyzing market and strategy-related information for reports, presentations, and client or internal inquiries.
• Examples of Areas Supported: Enhancing Live Dashboards, Credit research, and IFI reporting.

Requirements to be successful in this role:

This role is open to candidates from traditional finance backgrounds with demonstrated technical aptitude, as well as individuals from STEM and related fields who are interested in Finance and investment. Candidates will be assessed based on how closely they match the desired criteria below; it is not expected for candidates to meet every criterion.

• The ideal candidate will combine an interest in financial market analysis with a strong curiosity for technology, data, and how to leverage various applications. The role does not require deep investment experience, but it does require the ability to work closely with investment professionals to understand their needs and leverage Fiera Capital’s architecture layers.
• Master’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field is an asset;
• Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Science or Computer Science is an asset;
• CFA designation or active enrollment in the CFA Program;
• Experience with front-office applications, including data integration and application connectivity, and architecture-aligned solution development is an asset;
• Experience in capital markets or in the portfolio management industry is an asset;
• Understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis is an asset;
• Familiarity with AI integration tools and frameworks, such as coding agents, MCP servers, and AI-assisted development platforms, is an asset.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively with portfolio managers, analysts, traders, data teams, and technology partners.
• Curiosity, adaptability, and willingness to operate in a dynamic investment management environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English;
• Strong business acumen, judgement and decision-making skills;
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills;
• Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently;
• Familiarity with the Canadian bond market and corporate bond issuers;
• An understanding of portfolio management processes and investment policies.

Additional Information:

• Our workplace model includes 4 days a week in the office, Monday through Thursday.
• Summer schedule arrangements may vary for investments teams.
• The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $125,000 and will vary based on the candidate experience. This role is also eligible for additional compensation, including bonuses and employee benefits. This salary range is for Ontario.

For roles based in Quebec (Montreal and Laval), proficiency in spoken and written French is required. A working knowledge of English is also necessary to collaborate with our global teams and clients.
