The Role
The Team
Private Funds Operations supports the Funds & Secondaries and Private Equity Asia investment teams and plays a critical role throughout the investment lifecycle. The team is responsible for asset onboarding, funding, transaction processing and settlement, capturing and managing key investment data, and maintaining investment accounting records through to asset disposition.
Accountabilities
Review trade documentation, accounting entries and supporting materials to ensure transactions are accurate, complete and consistent with information provided by General Partners.
Support new investment closings by reviewing required documentation, confirming appropriate authorizations and coordinating transaction funding activities.
Process and review daily, monthly and quarterly investment accounting activities, reconciliations and reporting.
Partner with Investment Departments, Structuring and Business Management, Tax and Treasury to identify and resolve operational issues affecting transaction closing and funding.
Prepare and review quarterly valuations, financial schedules, management reports and portfolio information, ensuring adjustments are accurately recorded.
Identify process gaps, operational risks and recurring issues, and recommend improvements to controls, documentation and workflows.
Contribute to special projects and provide guidance to Analysts while supporting a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
What You Bring
Undergraduate or master’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Accounting or a related discipline.
Professional designation such as CPA, CFA or CBV is considered an asset.
Three to five years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, fund accounting, consulting, private equity or a related environment.
Strong analytical, financial accounting and management accounting skills, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with strong attention to detail and consistently high levels of accuracy.
Ability to manage a high volume of work, tight deadlines and complex transactions while applying sound judgment and escalating issues appropriately.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach and willingness to learn new systems and processes.
