About the role

Cognizant is seeking an experienced Master Data Management (MDM) Data Architect to lead the design and implementation of enterprise data platforms that enable trusted, scalable, and governed master data solutions. In this role, you will help define the organization's data strategy by developing robust Golden Record architecture, modern data integration frameworks, and cloud-based platforms that support critical business operations and analytics.

You will collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, application teams, and enterprise architects to deliver high-quality master data solutions while driving innovation across cloud, search, integration, and event-driven architectures.

In this role, you will:

· Design and implement enterprise-scale Master Data Management (MDM) solutions that establish trusted Golden Records across multiple data domains.

· Define data architecture standards, governance frameworks, and stewardship processes to improve data quality, consistency, and usability.

· Develop identity resolution, record matching, deduplication, survivorship, and data mastering strategies.

· Architect scalable cloud-native data platforms and data integration frameworks to support operational and analytical use cases.

· Design and implement data ingestion, Change Data Capture (CDC), event-driven, and microservices-based integration architectures.

· Build solutions leveraging modern cloud and data technologies, including messaging, search, and analytical platforms.

· Partner with engineering teams to ensure scalable, secure, and high-performing data architectures that meet business requirements.

· Design and optimize search and discovery capabilities using OpenSearch or Elasticsearch.

· Collaborate with healthcare business stakeholders to support provider data management, regulatory requirements, and enterprise data initiatives.

· Drive best practices in data governance, metadata management, data quality, and master data lifecycle management.

What you need to have to be considered

Data Architecture & Master Data Management

• Proven experience designing enterprise data platforms and Golden Record architecture.
• Deep expertise in Master Data Management (MDM), including identity resolution, record matching, deduplication, and data stewardship.

Cloud & Data Platform Technologies

• Hands-on experience with:
  • AWS Cloud Environment
  • PostgreSQL
  • Snowflake
  • OpenSearch/Elasticsearch
  • Kafka or AWS MSK
  • AWS cloud services

Integration & Event-Driven Architecture

• Experience designing and implementing:
  • Data ingestion frameworks
  • CDC (Change Data Capture) solutions
  • Event-driven architectures
  • API and microservices-based integrations

Search & Discovery Platforms

• Experience building or supporting search-driven applications using OpenSearch or Elasticsearch.
• Understanding of search relevance, faceted search, geospatial search, and indexing strategies.

Healthcare Domain Expertise

• 10+ years of data architecture, data engineering, or data management experience.
• Strong healthcare provider data experience, including provider directories, credentialing, network management, NPI/NPPES, and CMS datasets.

Salary and Other Compensation:

Applications will be accepted until November 21, 2026.

The annual salary for this position is between CAD 100,000 – CAD 125,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
