Intermediate Accountant

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Intermediate Accountant to join our Finance team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to build broad financial reporting and analysis experience within a dynamic and growing organization.
You will play a key role in the monthly close process, financial reporting, account analysis, and audit support activities while partnering with experienced finance professionals to improve processes and strengthen financial controls. This position is ideal for an ambitious accounting professional looking to deepen their technical accounting expertise and accelerate their career development.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations as part of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Analyze financial results, investigate variances, and provide insights into key drivers of account activity and business performance.
• Prepare working papers and supporting schedules for financial statements, regulatory filings, and management reporting packages.
• Support the preparation and review of sales tax filings and other regulatory reporting requirements.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting deliverables.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure the completeness, accuracy, and integrity of financial information.
• Support internal, external, and regulatory audits through the preparation of documentation, schedules, and analysis.
• Identify opportunities to enhance processes, strengthen controls, and improve operational efficiency.
• Participate in special projects, financial analysis, and ad hoc initiatives that support the broader Finance function.

WHAT WILL YOU BRING:

• 2+ years of accounting, financial reporting, or public accounting experience.
• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA designation in progress or a commitment to pursuing the CPA program is considered an asset.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting concepts.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate and resolve issues independently.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
• Experience with financial reporting, ERP, or accounting systems.
• Investment industry experience is considered an asset.

Experience supporting external, internal, or regulatory audits is considered an asset. This opportunity is for an existing vacancy with the company. The anticipated base salary range for this position is $55,000 to $76,000. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a bonus program.
