School of Trades & Technology - Technologist (part-time) Small Engine Apprenticeship (level 1)

Job Title: Technologists (Part-Time) -  Small Engine Apprenticeship (Level 1)

Department: School of Trades and Technology – Motive Power Program

Location: Commerce Court Campus – North Bay, ON

Status:  Temporary Part-Time

Contract Duration: October 26, 2026 - December 18, 2026  (8  weeks)

Hours Per Week: Up to 24 hours

Pay Rate: $27.93/hour + 6% vacation pay

Qualifications:

• Small Engine 435A or Marine Engine 435B Technician
• Additional Certificates of Qualifications including Motorcycle 310G, Small Engine 435A or Marine Engine 435B Technician
• Multiple licenses in related trades are an asset
• A minimum of three (3) years of recent industry experience in all aspects of the Motive Power Trade
• Computer literacy and excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
• Demonstrated teaching ability and an understanding of the learning process
• Demonstrated knowledge of student success strategies in a post-secondary setting
• Previous experience teaching in a post-secondary setting is an asset
• Must be able to reliably commute to the Commerce Court Campus in North Bay, ON required

Responsibilities:

• Move vehicles and equipment in and out of the shop as required
• Maintain vehicles (reassemble as required) and training aids by keeping them clean, operational and in a safe working condition
• Maintains all shop equipment and tools in safe working condition
• Assist in controlling supply inventories and budgets for instructional and maintenance supplies
• Assist program technologists and program faculty as requested
• Keep the Motive Power compound accessible and clear of snow (if needed)
• Other duties as assigned
