Job Title:Professor (Part-Time) – Introduction to Industry 4.0

Department:School of Trades and Technology – Advanced Manufacturing

Location:Commerce Court Campus – North Bay, ON

Contract Duration:September 8 – December 18, 2026

Application Deadline:Thursday, August 20, 2026 – 12:00 p.m.

The following teaching needs are required:

AMD150 – Introduction to Industry 4.0

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering, and/or Industrial Manufacturing
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in mechanical design, process control and assurance and product design
  • Experience with emerging technologies, AI, machining learning data analytics, Internet of Things (IoT), augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), cyber-physical systems, cloud computing, and 5G within the industrial and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to design hands-on, project-based learning modules tailored to various skill levels
  • Understanding of machine learning, optimization, and data visualization for engineering problems
  • Highly effective communication and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of student success strategies in a post-secondary setting
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in learning management systems (Brightspace or Moodle) and educational technologies is an asset
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment design in a post-secondary context is an asset
  • Must be able to reliably commute to the Commerce Court Campus in North Bay, ON required

 

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver and evaluate effective learning related to the course
  • Work closely with students and colleagues to provide an optimal learning environment
  • Perform all responsibilities associated with the learning environment including preparation, delivery, and evaluation of theory and practical learning activities
