Make an Impact Where Talent Meets Purpose

We’re hiring a Senior Talent Acquisition Advisor to join our Canada Life Talent Acquisition team. In this role, you’ll lead full-cycle recruitment across key business areas, with a focus on complex, hard-to-fill and senior-level searches. You’ll partner closely with hiring leaders to understand their talent needs, shape effective recruitment strategies, proactively identify and engage top talent, and deliver an exceptional candidate and hiring leader experience.

You’ll be more than a recruiter. You’ll be a strategic advisor, coach, storyteller and champion of our culture and values, bringing your recruitment expertise and talent market insights to help leaders make informed hiring decisions.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment across a diverse portfolio, including complex, hard-to-fill and senior-level searches.
  • Partner with hiring leaders to understand talent needs and develop tailored recruitment strategies aligned with business goals and diversity, equity and inclusion priorities.
  • Act as a strategic talent advisor, providing market insights, challenging assumptions and influencing recruitment and selection decisions.
  • Proactively source and engage talent through social networks, LinkedIn Recruiter, recruitment platforms, networking, direct outreach and other sourcing channels.
  • Build and maintain strategic talent pipelines through proactive sourcing, market research and ongoing relationship management.
  • Create compelling job postings and candidate messaging that reflect our employer brand and culture.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to hiring leaders on interview techniques, selection criteria and recruitment best practices.
  • Coach and support Talent Acquisition colleagues, sharing expertise and best practices to strengthen recruitment capability across the team.
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners and cross-functional teams to deliver a seamless, inclusive candidate and hiring leader experience.
  • Leverage recruitment data, market insights and talent trends to inform recruitment strategies and continuously improve outcomes.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador at recruitment events, connecting with talent and showcasing our commitment to an inclusive workplace and culture.
  • Lead or play a key role in Talent Acquisition projects and initiatives that evolve and strengthen our recruitment practices, candidate experience and overall hiring strategy.

What You Will Bring:

  • 6+ years of progressive Talent Acquisition experience, ideally within a large, complex organization.
  • Proven experience leading complex, hard-to-fill and senior or executive-level searches.
  • Strong proactive sourcing skills with experience identifying and engaging passive talent through creative outreach strategies.
  • A consultative mindset with the ability to influence, challenge and build trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong interviewing and assessment skills, with a focus on delivering an exceptional candidate and hiring leader experience.
  • Experience coaching or mentoring others and sharing recruitment expertise and best practices.
  • Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS); familiarity with SuccessFactors is a strong asset.
  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Bilingualism in English and French is a strong asset. For positions based in Quebec, bilingualism is required, as the role will regularly support French- and English-speaking clients.

Given the size and scope of our organization, we have the flexibility for this position to be located in the following head office locations: Montreal, Toronto, London, Winnipeg.

The base salary for this position is between $71,900 - $119,800 annually.
