The Opportunity

In this role, you’ll experience accelerated professional development through hands-on involvement in projects and direct supervision by our Electrical Director,Michael O'Keeffe. You’ll take on meaningful responsibilities early in your career, gain exposure to a broad range of technical challenges, and develop the skills and confidence needed to build a strong foundation for long-term success in the building engineering industry.

Your main responsibilities

• • Prepare CAD and/or Revit drawings, under the supervision of senior staff.
  • Support the design and layout of electrical systems, including lighting, power, distribution, fire alarm, and communication systems.
  • Perform load calculations and assist in developing panel schedules, single line diagrams, and other technical documents.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines (mechanical, structural, architectural) to ensure cohesive design integration.
  • Review shop drawings and assist in preparing responses to RFIs (Requests for Information).
  • Participate in site visits and assist with field reviews and construction inspections.
  • Assist in the preparation of documentation for permit and tender submissions.
  • Keep up-to-date with applicable codes and standards such as the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and local building regulations.

Your Profile

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
• Registered as an E.I.T. under the EGBC or aspirations in becoming and E.I.T (Engineers & Geoscientists British Columbia).
• 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in electrical design, ideally for buildings
• Experience with AutoCAD is required; familiarity with Revit MEP is considered a strong asset
• Any experience in consulting engineering, or other relevant experience is an asset, including internships
• Basic understanding of electrical systems in building (lighting, power, life safety)
• Proficiency in AutoCAD
• Strong Attention to detail and organization skills
• Willingness to learn and take direction from the senior staff
• Good written and verbal communications

Salary range:$60,000 – $75,000 per year, with final compensation determined based on experience, qualifications, scope of the role and geographic location.
