Advisor, Defense Communications

What are your contributions to the team?

We’re looking for a strong communicator to join our dynamic Bombardier Defense team during an exciting period of growth and evolution. You will:

• Create compelling communications materials that strengthen Bombardier Defense’s position as a world-leading provider of defense solutions. These materials include general messaging, press releases, articles, executive speeches and social media posts.
• Work closely with Bombardier Defense team members to advance the public relations objectives of various regions and campaigns.
• Act as a trusted partner to internal stakeholders, collaborating with Marketing, Sales, Government Affairs and other teams to deliver integrated and impactful communications.
• Demonstrate agility in managing multiple high-priority projects simultaneously, adapting quickly to evolving business needs.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with local and international media, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance visibility and influence.
• Monitor and analyze media coverage, providing actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Support responses to media inquiries with professionalism, speed and rigor, while taking inputs from subject matter experts.
• Contribute to a culture of excellence by aligning communications initiatives with Bombardier’s broader strategic objectives.
• Engage with all stakeholders in a way that exemplifies Bombardier Defense’s collaborative approach as well as Bombardier’s corporate values.

How to thrive in this role?

• You hold a bachelor’s degree in Communications/Journalism/Public Relations or a related discipline
• You have at least 2 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations or related discipline with experience in media relations preferred
• You are an exceptional communicator, with excellent written and verbal skills in both English and French
• You are organized and versatile, with a proven ability to deliver multiple projects in parallel
• You bring strong project management skills and thrive in fast-paced, high-visibility environments
• You demonstrate sound judgment, adaptability, and composure when navigating ambiguity or sensitive situations
• You enjoy working collaboratively as part of a team
• You are proactive, solution-driven, detail-oriented and eager to learn
• You have experience in aerospace and/or defense (preferred)
