The program utilizes a collaborative care model (COACT) including team nursing for patient care and Connect Care for the patient's electronic medical record. The program has a team of CNEs and CNS to support new hire orientation, training in specialized areas and ongoing professional development and initiatives. Description:

Reporting to the Patient Care Manager, this Unit Manager position is primarily assigned to Unit 5C4. However, the successful candidate will also be deployed throughout the Medicine Program to provide leadership coverage during Unit Manager absences and to support special projects as required. This position works collaboratively with other Unit Managers in Medicine and functions within a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The Unit Manager is accountable for the effective utilization of human and fiscal resources, ensuring the maintenance of unit standards and the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient- and family-centered care in alignment with AHS values. As a frontline leader, this role also supports the professional development of staff and self through mentorship, coaching, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
