As a Protective Services Officer, you will be among the first to respond to and document security events while helping to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, staff, and community members. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential to foster collaboration, demonstrate respect, and effectively de-escalate challenging or high-stress situations. Cardston Health Centre offers a unique rural healthcare environment that includes an Opioid Dependency Program (ODP) clinic providing treatment and support for individuals experiencing addictions and mental health challenges. Opioid agonist treatment, combined with recovery-oriented psychosocial interventions, plays an important role in supporting individuals with opioid dependency. As a member of the broader psychosocial support team, you will work alongside healthcare professionals to promote safety, support patient-centered care, and contribute to positive outcomes for vulnerable populations. Description:

As a Protective Services Officer II, you will provide security and protective services for all patients, visitors, staff and AHS property including: violence monitoring, prevention and intervention; enforcement of applicable federal, provincial and municipal statutes; asset loss prevention and internal investigations; preparation of court documents and securing evidence; risk assessment and hazard identification; arrests, apprehensions and detentions of persons and first responder to critical events. You will provide support for facility departments on matters of security and safety practices, participates in reviewing and recommending policy, and fosters and maintains positive public relations through relationships with internal and external contacts.
