The Ministry of Hospital and Surgical Health Services (HSHS) establishes the Government of Alberta’s strategic direction, policy and operational funding for the province’s acute health care sector. HSHS focuses on hospital care, emergency health services, organ and tissue transplantation, cancer care, and surgical procedures. Reporting to the Ministerial Correspondence Unit (MCU) Manager, the Writer/Editor in the MCU plays a key role in supporting the Minister, Deputy Minister, and department by ensuring Albertans and key stakeholders receive clear, accurate, and timely information about the Government of Alberta’s health care strategies, policies, and programs. The Writer/Editor drafts , reviews and edits ministerial correspondence and briefing materials that support consistent messaging and meet the government and ministry’s established standards for tone, style, accuracy, and clarity.

This is a temporary position ending on July 2nd, 2027, with regular working hours of 36.25 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
This position is based in Edmonton, Alberta.
