Communications and Public Engagement (CPE) is the Government of Alberta’s full-service communications, public relations and marketing department. Its mandate is to enhance communications between Albertans and the Government of Alberta.
CPE’s expert staff provide specialized services across the spectrum of communications including writing, social media, media relations, event coordination, issues management, crisis communications, digital communications, advertising, marketing, graphic design, public engagement and translation services.

Leveraging your superior organizational and project management skills, the Communications Advisor, Issues and Intake Coordinator, ensures coordination of work originating through CPE’s project intake system in the planning and coordination branch within strategic communications services at CPE.
As the Communications Advisor, Issues and Intake Coordinator, you know how to jump to the pump to respond to urgent requests, triaging them to branch management, project managers or service providers to ensure ministry communications are consistent, effective and delivered on time.
You are the primary contact for ministry communications staff to connect with branch services delivery staff (e.g. graphic designers, research team, social media coordinators) and you work with a high level of independence to support client service delivery. You’re also responsible and accountable for ensuring the executive director and branch leadership are apprised of issues, options and impacts. You ensure projects are properly tracked and assigned within the branch and provide reports for senior leadership.

University graduation in a related field to the position, ideally in communications/public relations/marketing with marketing communications project management experience supplemented by 4 years progressively responsible experience.
