The Case Support Analyst position will perform various functions within the Compliance Support (CS) and Case Resolution (CR) teams of the Case Management division, while also providing office management duties to ensure our Calgary office runs smoothly.
While working for the Compliance Support team (approximately 60% of the time), you will provide the first-level review and assessment on Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and breach reports that are submitted to the OIPC to determine jurisdiction, applicable legislation and issues. The primary focus will be on the review, analysis and processing of PIAs, SRBs (self reported breaches) and RFIs (requests for information). As the work of the CS team expands, you will provide the first level of review for other submissions, such as policies and procedures, which may be sent to the OIPC for review and comment.
When working with the Case Resolution team (approximately 30% of the time), you will perform various tasks, such as assisting with resolution of deemed refusals and AMVIR (Access to Motor Vehicle Information Regulation) disclosure reviews. You will draft, for review, straightforward jurisdiction closure letters and decisions concerning extensions of the time to submit a review under the Acts. You will also provide backup support for the Case Resolution Intake Advisors.
You will be responsible for entering case-related data for both teams into the OIPC’s electronic case management system as needed for file related work and management, including adding contact information and creating accounts for parties, case types, subject matters, issues, relevant legislation, timelines and phases within the OIPC process. Additional responsibilities include responding to incoming inquiries from various stakeholders.
You will also be responsible for office management duties (approximately 10% of the time) for the Calgary office. This involves coordinating building management functions and contractors in the Calgary office, security, parking, shredding, surplus and petty cash management. Other duties include ordering supplies and water, handling mail and courier deliveries (GoA courier and external), and organization of kitchen. You will assist with Calgary general office operational duties, which includes being the office maintenance contact for WORTS (Infrastructure Work Order Request Tracking system), or other requests.

A University graduation in a related field plus four years of progressively responsible related experience. Equivalencies may be considered on the basis of one year of education for one year of experience, or one year of experience for one year of education.
General knowledge of the legislation the Commissioner oversees or demonstrated ability to apply and interpret legislation would be an asset. Technical experience that would assist with assessing PIA requirements would be an asset.
