Role Responsibilities

Are you ready to make a difference in the dynamic and fast-paced world of cybersecurity? The GoA's Cybersecurity Division is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Administrative Coordinator to support our Executive Director and the CyberAlberta Branch. If you thrive in a collaborative environment, have exceptional organizational skills, and are passionate about supporting key initiatives that protect Alberta’s digital assets, this role is for you.

As the Administrative Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in managing and coordinating the administrative activities within the Cybersecurity Division. You will provide comprehensive support to the Executive Director, facilitate office management, oversee financial and human resources duties, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. This role is integral to ensuring the smooth operation of the branch’s daily activities, while working closely with the Assistant Deputy Minister’s Office (ADMO).

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and preparing agendas and minutes.
  • Providing assistance with and coordination of the CyberAlberta inbox.
  • Managing travel arrangements and expense claims for the Executive Director.
  • Drafting correspondence, reports, and responses to information requests.
  • Managing financial duties, including coding invoices, tracking expenditures, and verifying monthly financial reports.
  • Facilitating staff onboarding and termination processes, ensuring compliance with established policies.
  • Maintaining office supplies, confidential files, and organizational systems.
  • Developing and updating office processes, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Supporting Action Requests and other government inquiries.
  • Handling public contacts and providing assistance with departmental and governmental activities.

Qualifications

Required:

  • A high school diploma and at least three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative experience. Equivalencies may be considered. 
  • Cover letter detailing how your skills and experience align with the role's responsibilities, used to assess writing and communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams).


Assets:

  • Familiarity with Government of Alberta software (1GX, BERNIE).
  • Experience with Adobe Professional, ARTS (Action Request Tracking System), and SharePoint.


Equivalencies are:
A related two-year diploma and a minimum of one (1) year of related experience; or a related one-year certificate and a minimum of two (2) years of related experience.

Additional Position Details:

  • This position is a permanent, full-time role with the standard weekly work hours of 36.25, Monday to Friday (8:15 am – 4:30 pm). 
  • Location: Terrace Building, 9515 - 107 St NW, Edmonton
