Junior Law Clerk - Real Estate

What We Are Looking For:

We are looking to fill a new position for a Junior Real Estate Law Clerk who will contribute to the overall excellent level of service provided to our clients. The successful candidate should have strong knowledge of the real estate transaction process for commercial matters. The ideal candidate must possess excellent organizational talent along with the ability to multi-task and prioritize. This is a good position for someone who is detailed oriented, a self-starter who has excellent technical skills and has the ability to work with minimal supervision. 

Responsibilities:

• With guidance, carriage of commercial real estate files from beginning to end
• Preparation of all related documents for purchase and sale transactions, mortgage transactions, routine loan transactions and refinancing
• Standard document production in relation to larger property acquisitions, dispositions and financings
• Review title searches, oversee off-title searches and draft requisition letters and responses
• Deal directly with clients, financial institutions, municipalities, land registry offices and title insurance companies
• Prepare record books promptly following completion of files
• Collaborate with in-house conveyancers on due diligence projects
• Produce the highest quality of work
• Accountable for all work assigned

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years previous experience as a Real Estate Law Clerk or an experienced legal assistant looking to transition into a clerk role
• Strong knowledge of the real estate transaction process for commercial matters
• Successful completion of a related post-secondary education program in a law clerk program
• Proficiency with Teraview is required
• Flexibility to work overtime when needed

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $70,000 to $80,000 annually; the base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal and market equity.
