AGAT Laboratories is currently seeking a Fire Assay Technician to join our Thunder Bay team. The successful candidate will support laboratory operations by preparing and analyzing samples while ensuring accurate, timely, and high-quality results.

What you will be doing:

• Receive work orders and perform sample preparation.

• Prepare samples, reagents, and calibration standards for analysis.

• Perform sample analysis according to established procedures.

• Maintain laboratory instrumentation in an optimized and calibrated condition.

• Troubleshoot basic instrumental issues and perform routine maintenance.

• Verify and validate analytical data.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date laboratory records.

• Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality control (QC) requirements.

• Meet established quality assurance and turnaround time specifications.

• Assist with training junior analysts as required.

• Perform other laboratory and administrative duties as assigned.

What you bring to the table:

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

• Good problem-solving and communication skills.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

• Basic computer proficiency.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 kg.

• Must be able to properly wear a respirator and work in hot conditions.

• Willingness to work overtime during peak periods as required.

• Previous laboratory experience is an asset; training will be provided for the right candidate.

Compensation $20.00–$27.00 per hour
