About our Vancouver Office
Located in the heart of downtown Vancouver, between the Pacific Ocean and the Coast Mountains, Teck’s Corporate Office sits in one of Canada’s most culturally diverse cities.
Surrounded by world-renowned nature and globally inspired cuisine, the office brings together many of Teck’s corporate functions - all working toward Teck’s purpose of providing the essential resources the world relies on.
Reporting to the Principal Mining Engineer, the Senior Mining Engineer will support the Akitigiruq and Anarraaq Extension Project (AAEP), a mine life extension project for the Red Dog Mine in Alaska currently in Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS). As part of the North America Strategic Planning team, this role will contribute to underground mine design, ventilation, production planning, waste management, cost estimation, and project development activities as the project advances through future study stages.
Working closely with operational, technical, project development, sustainability, and external affairs teams, the incumbent will provide technical leadership, develop strategic mine plans, and manage external consultants. The role is part of a multidisciplinary team of mining, geological, metallurgical, hydrogeological, geotechnical, and tailings specialists, while also supporting integration with existing Red Dog operations, asset optimization initiatives, and mentoring junior engineers. Travel requirements are approximately 15-20%.
Pay Range: CAD $107,000 - $132,000 per year
The actual amount offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
