Job Description:

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

CUSTOMER / BUSINESS

· Lead or contribute to the end-to-end design and execution of severe-but-plausible scenarios that assess whether critical operations and supporting services can remain within approved impact tolerances.

· Partner with business, technology, cybersecurity, third-party risk, facilities, crisis management, business continuity, data and control functions to develop credible cross-functional scenarios.

· Develop scenario narratives, assumptions, injects, participant roles, decision points, facilitation materials, success criteria and post-test evaluation plans.

· Apply a structured approach across tabletop exercises, simulations and other scenario-based testing methods, increasing test rigor where appropriate to the risk and maturity of the capability.

· Facilitate testing sessions with operational and senior stakeholders, maintaining pace, realism, constructive challenge and clear documentation of decisions and observations.

· Evaluate performance against impact tolerances, recovery objectives, service commitments and established controls; document vulnerabilities, dependencies, gaps and potential customer or business impacts.

· Develop clear test reports and actionable remediation plans with accountable owners, target dates, validation criteria and risk-based prioritization.

· Monitor remediation progress, validate closure evidence and escalate overdue, ineffective or material actions through established governance channels.

· Prepare concise reporting on test coverage, outcomes, recurring themes, risk trends and readiness for management and governance forums.

SHAREHOLDER / RISK & GOVERNANCE

· Adhere to internal policies, operational resilience standards, risk-management frameworks and applicable regulatory expectations.

· Contribute to the development and maintenance of scenario testing methodologies, procedures, templates, quality controls and evidence standards.

· Support maintenance of the risk-based testing universe and roadmap, reflecting critical operations, material vulnerabilities, emerging threats, significant change, incidents and prior test results.

· Provide effective challenge to scenario scope, assumptions, recovery strategies, dependency mapping and management assertions to ensure testing is credible and outcome focused.

· Maintain complete, accurate and review-ready records of scenario design, participation, evidence, observations, decisions, findings and remediation activities.

· Support regulatory examinations, audits and management responses by providing clear evidence of testing execution and remediation governance.

· Identify recurring themes, concentration risks and systemic weaknesses across scenarios and recommend improvements to controls, response strategies and testing practices.

· Contribute subject-matter expertise to cross-functional and enterprise initiatives involving operational resilience, crisis management, business continuity, technology recovery or third-party resilience.

· Remain current on emerging threats, industry practices and evolving regulatory expectations, assessing their relevance to scenario selection and testing methods.

EMPLOYEE / TEAM

· Continuously strengthen expertise in operational resilience, scenario design, facilitation, risk analysis, service mapping, data interpretation and executive reporting.

· Prioritize and manage multiple testing activities and remediation reviews to deliver high-quality outcomes within agreed timelines.

· Build effective relationships across business and technology teams, control functions, program leaders, subject-matter experts and external specialists.

· Coach and support less-experienced team members by sharing methods, templates, lessons learned and practical scenario-testing techniques.

· Promote a positive and inclusive work environment focused on professionalism, innovation, teamwork, disciplined execution and constructive challenge.

· Identify and recommend opportunities to improve testing efficiency, consistency, coverage, evidence quality and management insight.

· Communicate issues, decisions, dependencies and points of interest promptly to the Senior Manager and relevant stakeholders.

BREADTH & DEPTH

· Advanced knowledge of operational resilience scenario testing, exercise design, business continuity, crisis management, technology resilience or a closely related risk discipline.

· Strong understanding of critical operations, impact tolerances, end-to-end dependency mapping, recovery strategies, control assessment and remediation governance.

· Experience leading or materially contributing to complex cross-functional tabletop exercises, simulations or scenario-based assessments.

· Ability to act as a lead practitioner and trusted resource for project teams, business partners, control functions and external vendors.

· Advanced facilitation, analytical and written communication skills, including the ability to translate complex observations into clear findings, risk statements and executive-ready reporting.

· Strong judgment and constructive-challenge capability in ambiguous, time-sensitive and high-impact situations.

· May lead workstreams or testing engagements of significant scope, risk and complexity without direct people-management accountability.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

· University degree or equivalent professional experience in business, risk management, technology, emergency management, security or a related discipline.

· 7+ years of relevant experience, including meaningful experience in operational resilience scenario testing, exercise management, business continuity, crisis management, technology resilience or enterprise risk.

· Hands-on experience designing and facilitating tabletop exercises, simulations or other scenario-based tests and translating outcomes into measurable remediation plans.

· Experience working across business, technology and control functions in a large, complex or regulated organization is strongly preferred.

· Demonstrated ability to manage senior stakeholders, deliver complex assignments and produce high-quality risk and governance reporting.

· Relevant certifications or accreditations are assets, such as CBCP, MBCI, ISO 22301, CRISC, CISM, PMP or recognized exercise-design / emergency-management credentials.
