Digital Media Specialist

Job Summary: In accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values, and strategic directions of Provincial Health Services Authority patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at PHSA, and as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position. The Digital Media/AV Specialist supports BC Children’s & BC Women’s through planning, creative development, production and output of a wide range of digital media products in collaboration with the Media Services team and other program and technology staff. This position will maintain and upgrade proficiency in digital media and AV technologies.Duties/Accountabilities: 1. Working with varied stakeholders, provides professional quality digital media which may include video and sound recordings, animations, photography, and graphics for integration across a variety of formats from print to mobile.2. Fully skilled in digital media and interactive eLearning resources, skilled at using applications such as Adobe Creative Suite, HTML/CSS/Javascript/Flash.3. Provides full support with webcasting services including live streaming content, creating and maintaining a database of on-demand media. 4. Supports users in varied environments by ensuring A/V equipment is operational supports with trouble-shooting such as changing batteries and bulbs, providing appropriate connectors, extension cords, , ensuring sound system operable, 5. Performs routine preventative maintenance, support and trouble-shooting on all AV systems, media production and classroom equipment.6. Provides input to the Coordinator by recommending equipment and supply purchases to support digital media production and to meet classroom AV needs7. Performs other related duties as assigned.Qualifications: Education, Training and Experience • Diploma in digital design or new media plus one year recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
