Business Development Representative

Are you a driven and ambitious professional eager to start or accelerate your career in sales? Field Effect, a growing cybersecurity company, is looking for a Business Development Representative (BDR) to help generate new business for our Managed Detection & Response solution and build strong, trusted relationships with prospective clients. 

As the first point of contact in our sales process, BDRs play a critical role in building the partner pipeline and contributing to overall sales success.

What You’ll Do:

• Identify, contact, and qualify decision makers from target accounts, including managed service providers (MSP), value-added-resellers (VAR), and small-to-mid sized businesses.
• Generate qualified meetings for Account Executives, creating meaningful pipeline opportunities that drive revenue growth.
• Engage in high-volume outreach (100+ calls per day).
• Achieve your quota by generating new sales opportunities.
• Learn to uncover prospect pain points and clearly articulate how Field Effect solves real cybersecurity challenges.
• Take a values-based approach to every sales conversation.
• Develop your sales skills through regular one on one coaching, role play sessions, and ongoing training using our sales playbook.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in our CRM.
• Report on weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance metrics.

Our BDR tech stack includes: ZoomInfo Engage, 6Sense, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Microsoft Dynamics and more.

Compensation: This role offers on‑target earnings (OTE) of CAD $75,000–$85,000, made up of a base salary plus variable compensation tied to sales performance.

Work Location & Travel:

• This is a hybrid role, requiring on-site presence in our Ottawa office 5 days a week during the training period, followed by at least 3 days per week. 
• Occasional travel to partner/company events and conferences is required
