About the role:
Clutch is looking for an experienced Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) Technician to join our growing Vehicle Reconditioning team!
As a PDR Technician, you’ll be responsible for repairing dents and cosmetic damage to a high retail standard while preserving the vehicle’s original factory finish. You’ll work at one indoor location with a steady, scheduled flow of vehicles, allowing you to focus on the work without the need for estimating, customer communication, invoicing, or collections.
Every vehicle you work on will ultimately be delivered to a Clutch customer, making quality and attention to detail an important part of the role.
What you’ll do:
Repair dents to a high retail cosmetic standard using traditional rod work, glue pulling, and knockdowns
Repair a variety of damage including door dings, body lines, sharp dents, and hail damage
Assess incoming damage and determine whether it is suitable for PDR or should be referred to body and refinish
Remove and reinstall trim, liners, and hardware to access factory openings
Perform repairs through existing factory access points such as window apertures, plug holes, and grommets
Use glue pulling techniques where traditional tool access is limited
Do not drill access holes or modify vehicles without written pre-approval
Document repairs with before-and-after photos
Inspect completed repairs under proper lighting to ensure they meet Clutch’s quality standards
Identify and flag damage that falls outside of PDR scope before the vehicle moves through the reconditioning process
Work closely with detailers, body technicians, estimators, and other members of the reconditioning team
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
Consistently deliver high-quality repairs while maintaining efficient production
What we’re looking for:
2+ years of professional Paintless Dent Repair experience
Demonstrated experience repairing door dings, body lines, and sharp dents
Strong traditional rod work and glue pulling skills
Strong understanding of PDR repairability and the ability to accurately assess a panel before beginning work
Ability to work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of quality
Strong attention to detail and pride in your workmanship
Ability to consistently meet quality and production expectations
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work independently and take ownership of your work
Valid driver’s license, as you may be required to move vehicles around the site
Other items to note:
This is an indoor, single-site position
You’ll work with a consistent, scheduled flow of vehicles
Vehicles arrive with damage already identified and photographed
Repairs must preserve the vehicle’s original factory finish
Access holes must not be drilled into vehicles
Any damage outside of PDR scope should be identified and escalated early
A practical assessment on real vehicles will be part of the hiring process
It’d be great if you have:
Experience repairing aluminum panels
Experience with hail damage
Previous dealership, collision repair, or vehicle reconditioning experience
Experience working within documented repair standards or tiered rate structures
Why you’ll love it at Clutch:
Consistent work: Enjoy a steady, scheduled flow of vehicles without needing to find your own work
Focus on your craft: Spend your time repairing vehicles instead of handling sales, estimating, invoicing, collections, or customer communication
Indoor work: Work at one location without seasonal travel or chasing hail work
Quality-focused environment: Take pride in delivering high-quality repairs that are virtually invisible to the customer
Great team: Work alongside experienced technicians, detailers, estimators, and other reconditioning professionals
Competitive compensation: Earn $30.00–$40.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
Benefits: Access comprehensive health and dental benefits
Growth opportunities: Join a growing reconditioning operation with opportunities to develop your skills and take on additional responsibility
Specialized trade: Build your career in a specialized PDR role within a growing automotive company
Employment Type:
New, Permanent Full-Time
Compensation & Benefits:
Wage:$30.00 - $40.00 per hour
Comprehensive benefits plans include healthcare, dental care, vision care, prescriptions, life insurance, and dependent coverage; start from day 1. (Applicable for Permanent Full-Time)
Pay decisions reflect objective criteria: skills, performance, market benchmarking, responsibilities, and working conditions
