YOUR ROLE

As an Associate Cloud Engineer, you will join Wind River's Cloud Platform Engineering team and contribute to the development of cloud-native infrastructure solutions that power next-generation edge computing and 5G deployments.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE

You will work alongside experienced engineers to develop, test, and improve software components used in highly distributed cloud environments. This role provides an excellent opportunity to build expertise in cloud technologies, automation, distributed systems, and open-source platforms while working on products used by some of the world's leading telecommunications and technology companies.

In your daily work, you will:

  • Design, develop, and maintain software modules using C, C++, and Python.

  • Participate in the development and testing of cloud platform components for edge and distributed computing environments.

  • Support the integration, validation, and automation of cloud infrastructure solutions.

  • Contribute to software quality through test automation, debugging, and root cause analysis.

  • Collaborate with global engineering teams in an agile development environment.

  • Participate in code reviews and continuously improve development practices.

  • Document technical solutions, designs, and implementation details.

  • Contribute to open-source projects, including technologies associated with StarlingX and cloud-native infrastructure.

  • Learn and apply best practices related to scalability, reliability, and cloud software development.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Strong programming skills in C and C++.

  • Experience with Python scripting.

  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming concepts.

  • Knowledge of software development methodologies and debugging techniques.

  • Understanding of Linux-based development environments.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

  • Passion for learning new technologies and solving technical challenges.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience or knowledge in one or more of the following areas is considered an asset:

  • Kubernetes

  • Docker

  • OpenStack

  • StarlingX

  • Cloud-native technologies

  • Distributed systems

  • Test automation frameworks

  • CI/CD methodologies

  • Edge computing platforms

  • Telecommunications or 5G technologies

  • Open-source software development

COMPENSATION

Compensation will be determined through interviews and a review of the candidate's education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and internal equity considerations. Annual incentive plan eligibility may apply based on company policy and position level.
